The Will of John Fouracres

 

In the Name of God Amen I John Fouracres Private Mariner belonging to the fforty Second Company of Mariners Quarters at Plymouth in the County of Devon being of Sound and Disposing and Memory and considering the Perils and uncertainties of this Transitory life do (for Avoiding controversies after my Decease) make Publish and Declare this my last Will and Testament in manner following (that is to say) First I recommend my Soul to God that Gave it and my Body to the Earth or Sea as it shall please God to Order and as for all my Worldly Estate I Give bequeath and Dispose thereof as followeth (that is to say) All my Pay Arrears of Pay Cloathing Prize Money And it is my Will that all the residue and remainder of my Goods and Chattels Shall be to and for the Use of my said Executor without being Accountable to any Person or Persons whatsoever and all Wages Sum and Sums of Money Lands Tenements Goods Chattels and Estate whatsoever as Shall be in any ways Due owing or belonging unto me at the tiem of my decease I Giv e Devise and bequeath the same unto my loving Wife Elinor ffouracres of the Parish of Wellington in the County of Somerset And I do hereny Nominate and Appoint her the said Elinor ffouracres whole and Sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former and other Wills Testaments and Deeds of Gift by me at any time heretofore made And I do Ordain and Ratify these Presents to stand and be for my only last Will and Testament In Witness whereof to this my said Will I have set my hand and seal the ffifteenth day of October And in the Twenty Eighth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second over Great Britain ffrance and Ireland King Defender of the ffaith and so forth And in the Year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and ffifty ffive the Mark of John Fouracres Signed Sealed and Published in the Presence of us Thomas Bewes Mayor of Plymouth Nat.
