I THOMAS FOSSICK of London
cheesemonger do make this my present last Will and Testament in
manner following First I will and desire that my Body be buried in
the Parish Church of Edmonton and as to such temporal Estate as it
hath pleased God to bless me with I dispose thereof as follow that
is to say I give to my Brother LANCE FOSSICK £500 to THOMAS JOHN and
ELIZABETH the children of my late brother ROBERT FOSSICK deceased
£500 to be equally divided between them share and share alike which
sum I will and direct be placed by my Executrix hereinafter named in
one of the publick funds within twelve months after my decease for
their use and their respective shares to be severally paid them as
they shall respectively attain the age of 21 years and in case any
of them die before such said age of 21 years then the share or share
of such to be paid to the survivor or survivors if more than one
equally and I will and direct that the interest of the said £500 be
paid them equally until their said ages of 21 years.... To my nephew
JOHN FOSSICK son of my said brother JOHN FOSSICK £500 to be placed
by my Executrix in one of the publick Funds for his use and to be
paid or transfered unto him at the age of 21 years and the Interest
thereof in the mean time to be paid to him which said Sum I will and
direct to be placed in the said Funds within six months after my
decease. I give to MARY CARTER daughter of THOMAS CARTER £50 to be
paid her at the age of 21 years or sooner if my said Executrix shall
think proper. To my servant WILLIAM BEALES 20 Guineas. Item I give
and devise unto my dear and beloved wife MARY all and singular my
Copyhold and freehold Estates in London and Edmonton in the County
of Middlesex or Elswhere to hold unto her my said Wife for and
during the term of her natural life and fron and after her decease I
give and devise the same as hereafter that is to say I give and
devise unto my aforesaid nephew JOHN FOSSICK son of my brother JOHN
FOSSICK all and singular my freehold messuages lands tenements and
hereditaments situate and lying and being in Bishopsgate Street
London or elsewhere To hold to him and his heirs for ever Subject
and liable to the payment of an Annuity or rent Charge of £50 during
the term of 10 years from the decease of my said Wife unto and among
such of my other Nephews and Neices as shall be living during that
time equally share and share alike by equal half yearly payments and
that when and as often as the same or any part thereof shall be
behind and unpaid for the space of 21 days next and over of after
the Time whereon the same ought to have been paid as aforesaid
having been first lawfully demanded that then and so often and at
any time or times then after it shall and may be lawful to and for
any or either of my said Nephews or Neices in his or her Name and in
the Names of all the rest and for their uses into or upon the said
Messuages lands tenements and Hereditaments and premises chargeable
therewith or any or either of them or any part or parts thereof to
ender and distrain and such distress and distresses to detain keep
and dispose of as he or she shall think fit untill all such arrears
with Costs and Charges in and about making keeping and disposing
thereof be fully paid and satisfied and singular my Copyhold Estates
lying and being within the parish of Edmonton aforesaid and held of
the Manor of Edmonton aforesaid all which I have surrendered to the
use of my last Will , I give and devise from and after the decease
of my said Wife as aforesaid unto my said Nephew JOHN FOSSICK son on
my said Brother JOHN FOSSICK and his heirs upon Trust that he or
they shall and do as soon as conveniently may be after the decease
of my said Wife sell and dispose of for the most Money he or they
can all and singular the said Copyhold Estates lying and being in
Edmonton aforesaid and that he or they do forthwith pay or case to
be paid unto and among such of my other Nephews and Neices .... as
shall be then living all and singular the Moneys arising from the
sale thereof having first deducted all necessary and reasonable
charges attending the sale and disposal thereof equally share and
share alike and my Will and desire is that in case any of my said
Nephews and Neices should be then dead and should leave and children
... the share or part of each respective nephew or neice then dead
... be paid unto and among his or her chidlren ...... I do hereby
will and direct that all my legacys hereinbefore given and the
payments thereof not limitted be paid within twelve months next
after my decease All the Rest and Residue and Remainder of all and
singular my real and personal estate of all kinds whatever..... I
give unto my said dear and beloved wife MARY and I do hereby ordain
and appoint her sole executrix of this my last will and testament

hereby declare this to be my last Will and testament that is to say
the £500 provided before mentioned left to JOHN FOSSICK the son of
JOHN FOSSICK to be paid amonst my Nephews and nieces after the
decese of my Wife at 10 yearly payments of £50 per year. I desire
may be invested in him JOHN FOSSICK my nephew son of JOHN FOSSICK
and his heirs for ever ... witness my hand this 11 February 1767

with a codicil... 19 March 1767 by the oath of Mary Fossick widow
the relict of the decease and sole executrix ..
