The Will of Rowland Forster

 

Memorandum that on the Eleaventh day of May First yeare of the Raigne of our Soveraign William the third and Mary the second King and Queene of England and in the yeare of our Lord one Thousand six Hundred eighty nyne I Rowland Forster of Olney in the County of Bucks being of sound mind and memory doe make and Constitute this my last Will and Testament in manner and forme following (That is to say) I doe give and bequeath unto my Eldest sonn John Forster And to my second sonn William Forster and to my daughter Elizabeth Ashby Tenn shillings apiece And also I doe give and Devise unto my third sonn Josiah Forster All those my two Cottages or Tenements Situate together in Olney aforesaid now in the severall Tenure or Occupation of John Abraham and John Wild with the Houses Shopps outhouses yards and appurtenances thereunto belonging together alsoe with the Cottage or Tenement and ..Stables outhouses yards and appurtenances thereunto belonging late in the Tenure or Occupation of Adam Wayne deceased and now or late in the Tenure or Occupation of me the said Rowland Forster and of the said John Abraham and of one William Ashby some or one of us And alsoe all that my Cottage or Tenement in Olney aforesaid late in the Occupation of Thomas Ashburner Mattmaker deceased and now in the Occupation of Frances Hooton Widdow or her Assignes with the Barnes outhouses Orchards Comons and appurtenances thereunto belonging And also all that my Close of pasture Ground with the appurtenances in Olney aforesaid now in the Occupation of Thomas Clifton Abutting against the Comon Field called beneath Towne And alsoe all that my Close of pasture Ground with the appurtenances in North Crawley in the said county of Buck comonly called or knowne by the name of Thursey now the Tenures or Occupations of Thomas Clifton and John Clifton his sonne or one of them their or one of their Assigne or Assignes To have and to hold the said Cottages or Tenements and Closes of pasture with their and every of their appurtenances and every pce and pcell of the same unto my said sonn Josiah Forster at such time as my said sonn Josiah shall Attaine to the Age of one and Twenty yeares and to the heirs of his Body lawfully to be begotten And for want of such Issue I doe give and devise all the said Cottages or Tenements and Closes of pasture and hereditaments with their appurtenances unto my said sonnes John and William Forster and to my daughters Sarah Forster and Jane Forster Equally betweene them and to their heires forever Provided always and my will and meaning is that Elizabeth Forster my Wife shall or may have hold ..and enjoy all and singular the said Cottages Closes and pastures and the Rentes and profits of the same until my said sonne Josiah shall attaine and accomplish the Age of one and Twenty yeares towards the Augmentation and Increase of the portion of Josiah my said sonn And alsoe I doe give and devise unto my said Daughter Sarah Forster and to the heirs of her body lawfully to be begotten One moiety or equall half part of all these my two Closes of pasture ground lyeing together in North Crawley aforesaid Comonly Called or knowne by the name or names of Bulls end Closes now or late in the Occupation of Widdow Cowley or her Assignes with all and singular the ...hereditaments and appurtenances unto the same belonging and alsoe one moity or equal halfe parte of all that my Cottage or Tenement with the appurtenances in North Crawley aforesaid or late in the occupation of John Denton or his Assignes and also one moity or equal halfe parte of all those my Arrable Lands ??and sward ground and their appurtenances lyeing in the comon Fields and pish of Olney Comonly called beneath Towne Conteyning by Estimation seaven Acres and one Roode (be the same more or less) And for want of such Issue I give and devise the said moity of the said Cottage or Tenement and of the said two Closes last mentioned and the said seaven Acres and one Roode by estimation of Landes Leyes hades and sward ground with there appurtenances unto my said daughter Jane Forster and to the heirs of her Body Lawfully to be begotten And for want of such Issue I give and devise the same premises unto my sonns John and William Forster and Josiah Forster and to their heirs forever and alsoe I doe give and devise the other moity of the said two Closes called Bulls end Closes and the other Moity of my Land Cottage or Tenement in the Occupation of the said John Denton and the other Moity of my said seaven Acres and one Roode by estimation of Arrable Lands Leyes hades and sward ground with their appurtenances unto Jane Forster my said daughter and to the heirs of her body lawfully to be begotten and for want of such Issue I give and devise the last said Moity of my said Cottage or Tenement and of my said two Closes last mentioned and of my said seaven Acres and one Roode by estimation of Landes Leyes hades and sward ground with their appurtenances unto my said sonnes John Forster William Forster and Josiah Forster and to their heires forever Provided always and my minde and will is my said Wife Elizabeth Forster shall or may pay or Receive take and Enjoy all and singular the said last mentioned Cottage or Tenement and two Closes of pasture and seaven Acres and one Roode by estimation of Arrable Lands and sward ground and the Rents Issues and pfitts of the same until my said daughters Sarah and Jane shall severally and Respectively Attaine or Accomplish the Age or Ages of one and Twenty yeares as well for the maintenance and Education of Sarah and Jane my said daughters as alsoe for the Augmentation & Increase of their severall and Respective portions And alsoe I doe give and bequeath unto Sarah Forster and Jane Forster my said daughters the Legacyes or sumes of Fifty pounds of lawfull money of England to be Improved by the Executrix of this my last Will and Testament for their use and benefitt and the said Legacyes with the Increase thereof to be paid at such time or times as my said daughters shall severally and respectively Accomplish or Attaine the Age or Ages of one and Twenty yeares and my will and meaning is that In case either of my said daughters Sarah and Jane dye and depart this life before such time as her said Legacy of Fifty pounds shall become due or payable as aforesaid then my mind will and meaning is that the said Legacy of her so dyeing shall be... And I doe hereby Give and appoint the same unto the Survivor of my said daughters mast mentioned In case both my said daughters Sarah and Jane dye and depart this life before such time or times as their said Legacyes shall become due or payable that then their said Legacyes shall Remaine and be unto and with my Executrix of this my last Will and Testament And alsoe I do give unto Each of my sonns John Forster William Forster and Josiah Forster one silver spoone apiece And alsoe I give and bequeath unto my said daughters Sarah Forster and Jane Forster after the Decease of Elizabeth my Wife all the rest of my Plate and Household Stuffe to be equally devided betweene them And my mind and will is that my said wife Elizabeth Forster shall have the use only of all my Household Goods dureing her naturall Life And alsoe I give unto my Grandaughter Sarah Ashby Ten shillings I doe give to my Grandson John Ashburner Tenn shillings to be paid at such time as he shall Accomplish the Age of one and Twenty yeares In case he shall then be living All the Rest of my psonall Estate Goods and Chattells whatsoever after my debts Legacyes and Funerall Expences are discharged and paid I doe give and Bequeath unto my said wife Elizabeth Forster whom I doe hereby constitute and appoint Sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament And I doe desire my brother Mr William Foskett Thomas Marston of Wollaston in the County of Northton and George Mason of Olney aforesaid to be overseers of this my last Will and Testament And I doe hereby further appoint them Guardians of and for my said daughters Sarah Forster and Jane Forster in case of my wives death dureing their nonage And I doe give unto my said Overseers Five shillings apiece to buy them Gloves And I doe hereby Revoake and make void all former Wills and Testaments by me anywayes heretofore made or declared In witness whereof I have hereunto putt my hand and seale the day and yeare first above written Rowland Forster
