The Will of James Flack

 

In the Name of God Amen I James Flack of the Town of Huntingdon Innkeeper being weak in body but of sound mind memory and understanding thanks to Almighty God for the same do hereby make my last Will and Testament in manner following, that is to say, first I hereby direct my Executors hereafter named as soon as conveniently can be after my Decease to employ a proper Person or Persons to make an estimate of and Inventory of all my Personal Estate that I may die possessed of and where such estimate shall have been made I direct my Executors to divide the amount thereof unto three equal parts one part thereof I give and bequeath to my loving Wife Mary fflack to and for her own use and benefit the remainder I direct to be divided equally between my two Daughter Elizabeth and Eliza fflack to be paid to them as they shall respectively attain the Age of Twenty one Years or day of Marriage which shall first happen Secondly my will is that my Executors shall if my said Wife thinks proper and shall be advised to continue in the Business of an Innkeeper allow her to retain in her hands the amount of the legacy my said Children shall be entitled to by virtue of this my Will until they shall respectively attain the Age of Twenty one Years or day of Marriage which shall first happen if she my said Wife shall so long continue my Widow But in case my said Wife shall marry again then I direct my Executors to demand and take a good and sufficient Security for the Share of both or either of my said Daughters Legacy that may then be under Age or unmarried as aforesaid And lastly I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint Ernest Hubner and Richard Ashton of the Town of Huntingdon joint Executors of this my Will hereby revoking and making void all former and other Wills by me made In Witness whereof I have to this my Will contained in one Sheet of Paper set my hand and affixed my Seal this tenth day of May One thousand eight hundred and fourteen _ James Flack
