The Will of James Faucitt

 

In the name of God amen, I James Faucitt of Tadcaster, Cordwainer and shopkeeper being sick and weak in body but of sound mind, memory and understanding do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following, to wit,

       First of all, I give and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth Swift, wife of Joseph Swift of Hutton Pagnall in the county of York, Farmer, £10 to be paid her by my executrix hereafter named 12 months after my decease.

       Also I give and bequeath unto my brother Thomas Faucitt 5 shillings to be paid him by my executrix  hereafter named 12 months after my decease.

      AND all the rest residue and remainder of my worldly goods and effects in whose hands, custody or possession soever, they be within the Kingdom of Great Britain, I give, devise  and bequeath unto my loving wife Elizabeth Faucitt, she paying all my just debts, legacies and funeral expenses. AND I hereby nominate and appoint my said loving wife Elizabeth Faucitt sole executrix of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me heretofore made.

  In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 17th July 1790.

Passed 27th August 1790

 

Inventory 24th August 1790 Total £23-4s-0d, appraised by Robert Archbell and Mark Parker.
