The Will of John Ellson

 

This is the last Will and Testament of John Ellson of the Parish of Merstham in the County of Surry In the first place I desire that all my just Debts ffuneral Expences and the charges of proving this my last Will and Testament may be discharged out of my Personal Property as soon as conveniently may be after my decease I then give and bequeath to my dear Daughter Elizabeth Elliott the Widow of Gideon Elliott late of Merstham ffarmer all the residue of my Property whether Real or Personal ffreehold or Copyhold Money in the Public ffunds or lent out at Interest or ready Money or other Property whatsoever which I may die Possessed of to her sole use and at her absolute disposal But in case I should survive my said Daughter Elizabeth Elliott I then direct that all my said Property Real or Personal should be sold and the amount or produce thereof be equally divided amongst my Grandchildren the Sons and Daughters of my said Daughter Elizabeth by her late Husband Gideon Elliott share and share alike and I appoint my said Daughter Elizabeth Elliott and William Roffey who has Married my Granddaughter joint Executors with her of this my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto annexed my hand and seal the thirtieth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twelve John Ellson
