The Will of William Ellard

 

I William Ellard of Camden Row Camden Town in the County of Middlesex Plumber and Glazier do hereby make my last will and testament as follows in the first place all my just debts funeral and testamentary expences to be fully paid and satisfied as soon as conveniently can be after my decease I direct my Executors to pay the sum of five pounds as an apprentice fee for my son George and I also give five pounds to be appropriated by my Executors for the benefit of my son Harry in such manner as they shall think fit I also give to my daughter Mary five pounds for mourning And I direct my Executors as soon after my decease as in their discretion they may think proper to sell and dispose of my leasehold premises in Camden Town aforesaid and the goodwill of my trade and the stock in trade fixtures and utensils for the best price they can obtain for the same either by public auction or private contract And I give and bequeath the produce arising therefrom and all debts due to me and all other my Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever unto my wife Phillis Ellard for her own absolute use and benefit confiding with great confidence my children to her care controul and welfare in the....It is my wish that I may be interred in the grave belonging to me in the Highgate Cemetery and that Mr John Glazier of Tottenham Court Road be the Undertaker employed and that my funeral be conducted in a plain unostentatious manner provided always and I hereby authorize and empower my Executors in their discretion to grant an underlease of my said premises (in lieu of selling the same) either with or without a premium and at such improved rent as they can obtain And I direct that my Executors do out of all monies which may come to their hands reimburse themselves all costs charges and expenses they may pay incur or sustain in carrying into execution this my will and also that they shall not be answerable nor accountable for each other but each of them for his or her own acts deeds receipts wilful neglects and defaults only and lastly hereby revoking all former wills by me made I declare this only to be and contain my last will and testament In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this twentieth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty four and I do appoint my said wife Phillis Ellard Stephen Rogers of Cleveland Street S....Square Timber Merchant and Henry Tootill of No 5 Frances Terrace Camden Town Gentleman joint Executors and Executrix thereof   _  Wm Ellard
