The Will of Thomas Eggar

 

This is the last Will and Testament of me Thomas Eggar of Bentley in the County of Southampton Yeoman whereby I commend my Soul to God and dispose of my Worldly Estate in manner following (that is to say) I give and devise unto my Son John Eggar all that my ffreehold and Copyhold Messuage or Tenement ffarm Lands and Hereditaments with the Appurtenances situate in Bentley aforesaid called or known by the Name of Prestons which premises were devised to me by my late Brother John Eggar and which said Copyhold premises I have duly surrendered to the use of this my Will to hold unto my said son John Eggar his Heirs and Assigns for ever also I give and bequeath unto my said Son John Eggar all my Stock of Cattle ffarming utensils Crop of Corn Grass and Hay and in general all the Goods Chattells and personal Estate of what nature soever that now is or which shall at the time of my Death be in upon or belonging to my Messuage of Tenement ffarm Lands and Hereditaments situate in Worldham in the said County To hold to my said Son John his Executors Administrators and Assigns I also gie and bequeath unto my said Son John the Sum of One Thousand and One Hundred Pounds of lawful Money of Great Britain to be paid to him by my Executor hereinafter named within Six Months next after my decease Also I give and devise unto my Son Samuel Eggar all that my said Messuage or Tenement ffarm Lands and Hereditaments situate in Worldham aforesaid Which Premises I lately purchased of the Reverend Edmund fferrers to hold to my said Son Samuel his Heirs and Assigns for ever Also I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Mary Buddle the Sum of One Hundred Pounds to be paid out of my Personal Estate by my Executor hereinafter named within Six Months next after my decease I also give and devise unto my Eldest Son Thomas Eggar all that my Copyhold Messuage or Tenement wherein I now dwell with the ffarm Lands and Hereditaments thereto belonging situate in Bently aforesaid which premises I purchased of John Hawkins and which I have duly Surrendered to the use of this my Will to hold to my said Son Thomas Eggar his heirs and Assigns for ever subject nevertheless to and I do hereby Charge my said Copyhold premises devised to my said Son Thomas with the payment of the said Legacy of Sum of One thousand and One Hundred Pounds bequeathed as aforesaid to my said son John Also I give devise and bequeath unto my said Son Thomas all and singular other my ffreehold and Copyhold Messuages Lands Tenements and Hereditaments whatsoever and wheresoever in the Kingdom of Great Britain which Copyhold Premises I have surrendered to the use of this my Will and also all the rest residue of my Personal Estate of what nature soever to hold to my said son Thomas Eggar his Heirs Administrators and Assigns for ever and I Charge the said residue of my Personal Estate with the Payment of my Just Debts and nominate Constitute and Appoint my said Son Thomas Eggar Sole Executor of this my Will and Testament thereby revoking all former Wills by me made In Witness whereof I have to this my last Will and Testament contained in two Sheets of paper set my hand and Seal that is to say to the first sheet my hand and to this last Sheet my hand and Seal the Seventh day of October in the Year of Our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and Eighty two Thomas Eggar
