The Will of Thomas Edwards

In the Name of God Amen I Thomas Edwards of Oswestry in the County of Salop tho weak in body through the blessing of God being of perfect Understanding and Memory do constitute this my last Will and Testament trusting to the Almighty to receive my Soul through the Merits of Christ Jesus my Lord and Saviour ffirst I desire All my Debts be paid As Soon as convenient Item I leave my dear Wife for Term of Life the Six Houses by the Chapel also ffurniture for either of them should she chuse to go thither to live Subject to Pay my Brother Richard five pounds a Year from the Rents during his Life and after her Death to my Only Son Edward and his Heirs forever Item I leave to my Only Son when he attains the Age of Twenty One Years All my Property which at my decease I shall possess in the ffunds Also the Bond in the Turnpike road with all Shares I may in Mortgage Bonds Notes of Hand Property of all Designation both in Doors and out and to receive the Interest of the above from my Decease subject to Pay the following Legacies which I desire to be paid as soon as possible to my Sisters Mary Davies Mary Pugh and Nephew Thomas Humphreys five pounds each To my four Poor Cusins Jno Hughes Thos Davies Thos Killan and his Sister Catherine one Guinea each It must be remembered I don’t debar my Son from raising before he comes of Age Any Money he may want provided it is probable for good purposes I constitute my Wife my sole Executrix In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this 17th of March 1803 Thos Edwards In the presence of
