The Will of Morgan Edwards

In the Name of God Amen I Morgan Edwards of Clarence Place in the Parish of Westbury on Trim in the County of Gloucester being of sound and disposing mind thanks be to God do by this my last Will and testament give devise and bequeath to my Wife Maria Power Cookson Edwards my ffreehold Estate called Tyn y Tyla & cottages thereon in the Parish of Ystraddyfodwig in the County of Glamorgan during her life and Widowhood & after Widowhood or decease to my daughter Maria Margaret Edwards during her life and after her decease to her oldest son and if no son to her other children share and share alike & if she dies without Issue then to Thomas Edwards or his representatives Son of my Brother Walter Edwards & I give devise & bequeath all my Monies funds bills & securities & Property of every description in the Public funds or elsewhere to my aforesaid Wife Maria Power Cookson Edwards at her whole and sole disposal at the same time requiring her to make such allowance as she thinks fit to my aforesaid Daughter Maria Margaret Edwards whilst single and if married either to pay down a sum of Money on its being settled on her to her sole and separate use or continue her Allowance as my said Wife may see adviseable And I hereby nominate constitute and appoint my said Wife Maria Power Cookson Edwards and my Brother Thomas Edwards of New House Ystraddyfodwig Glamorganshire Executrix and Executor of this my Will hereby revoking all and every other Wills and Will by me at any time heretofore made I do declare this only to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this thirtieth day of January in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and thirty seven _ Morgan Edwards

This is the last Will and Testament of me Morgan Edwards of 14 Clarence Place Kingsdown in the Parish of Westbury on Trim heretofore in the County of Gloucester but now thrown into and forming part of the City of Bristol Gentleman I give devise and bequeath unto my dear Wife Maria Power Cookson Edwards All that my farm ffarmhouse Sheepwalk and lands called or known by the name of Tyn y Tyla in the Parish of Ystraddyfodwig in the County of Glamorgan now in the Occupation of Thomas Williams And also all that my Public House Garden Stable in the same Parish and County in the occupation of William Pigerell And also all that my Cottage and Premises in the same Parish and County now in the Occupation of Elspad ReesAnd all other my freehold Messuages lands heredits and premises whatsoever and wheresoever To hold unto my said dear Wife her heirs and Assigns for ever In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this fifteenth day of April in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and thirty seven _ Morgan Edwards
