I Peter Dutton of Burscough in County
Lancashire Husbandman, being of sound mind (Thanks be to the
Almighty) do for the setting [of] my temporal concerns make and
publish this my last Will & Testament in manner and for following-
First I order and direct that all my jut
debts, funeral expenses and the charge of the Probate and execution
of this my will shall be paid as soon as convenient may be after my
death. I give and bequeath the use and usage of all my household
furniture and husbandry utensils of every kind unto my wife Cicely
Dutton during her natural life-
I also give and devise unto my said wife
Cicely all that my Messuage and Tenement closes closures parcels of
land and premises with the appurtenances situate lying and being in
Burscough aforesaid and now in my possession To hold to her my said
wife during her natural life, and from and immediately after her
death I give and bequeath and devise all my said household furniture
husbandry utensils and the said Messuage and Tenement closes
closures parcels of land and premises with the appurtenances unto my
son Daniel Dutton and to my daughter Julia the wife of Thomas Moore
equally between them share and share alike as tenants in common not
as joint tenants –
And Lastly I hereby revoke and annul all
former Wills by me made and nominate and appoint Tomas Berry of
Burscough aforesaid Yeoman and his mother Mary Berry of the same
place Widow Executor and Executrix of this my last Will & Testament.
In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand
and Seal the third day of January in the year of our Lord one
thousand eight hundred and fourteen.

On the tenth day of September 1816 Thomas
Berry executor in this will (the Executrix Mary Berry being
deceased) named was sworn in common form and he further made oath
that this personal property of the Testator in this diocese and
County is under the sum of one hundred pounds before me
