The Will of William Down of Sherborne in the
County of Dorsett deceased
In the Name of God Amen I William Down of Sherborne in the County of
Dorsett Baking being of sound Mind and Memory Do make this my last Will
and Testament in manner and Forme following Vizt first I recommend my
soul to Almighty God who gave it in full hopes of a forgiveness of all
my Sins in whose Merceys I trust to receive the same And as to all the
Worldly Goods it has pleased Almighty God to bestow on me I Give at my
Decease as follows Item I Give to my Daughter Mary the now Wife of
Thomas Brain of Corton Denham in the County of Somersett Blacksmith
Twenty Pounds Also I Give to my Daughter Elizabeth now Wife of John
Luffman of Hallbridge in the County of Dorsett Miller Twenty Pounds Also
I Give unto my Grandson John Down Son of my late Son James Down five
pounds all which said Sums are to be paid by my Executor within twelve
months after my Decease Also I Give to my son William Down an Annuity of
thirty shillings a Year for his Natural Life to be paid him fifteen
shillings every half Year after my Decease by me Executor or by his
Assigns All the rest residue remainder of all my Effects with the House
Bake House all Out Houses Orchard and all other premises I now Occupie
together with all the Moneys Bonds debts Dues or Demands of what kind
soever with all Goods of what Nature or kind soever I Give unto my Son
John Down whome I appoint my whole & Sole Executor of this my last Will
& Testament revoking all former Will or Wills by me made In Witness
whereof I the said William Down have hereunto set my Hand and Seale this
Twenty first day of November and in the Year of our Lord One Thousand
Seven Hundred and Sixty nine The mark of William X Down
