In the Name of God Amen dated the 23rd of June 1803 I John Dovey of the Wind Mill Padock in the parish of Alberbury and County of Salop Miller being very weak and Sick in Body but of perfect Mind and Memory thanks be given unto God for the same and knowing that it is appointed for all Men once to die do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament that is to say ffirst I give and recommend my Soul to Almighty God and my Body to be buried in decent and Christian burial at the discretion of my Wife Elizabeth Dovey and as touching such Worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me within this life I give devise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form that is to say I give the Mill Land Messuages Tenements & appurts thereunto belonging situate at the …way in the Parish of Alberbury in the County of Montgomery to my only Son John Dovey and for him to pay his Mother three pounds a Year out of the said Estate and in case he has no Child living at his decease then for his Mother to enjoy the said Estate for her life and after her decease to go to her Daughter Mary Wright and her Heirs lawfully begotten I also give Thomas Wright the sum of five pounds to be paid by my Wife Elizabeth Dovey aforesaid I also give my Son John Dovey the Sum of One hundred and ffifty pounds now upon a Mortgage with Mr Hodges in Shrewsbury and his Mother to receive the Interest of the said Money for her natural life I also give and bequeath to Elizabeth Dovey my dearly beloved Wife all the Household Goods ffurniture and Stock which now are or may be in my possession at the time of my decease situate at the Wind Mill Padock aforesaid and I do hereby revoke and disannul all and every former Testament Wills Legacies in any ways before willed and bequeathed ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal the day and Year above written      John Dovey
