The Will of Mary Doggett
In the Name of God Amen The eight and twentieth day of October In the year of our Lord God One thousand six hundred Ninety and eight I Mary Doggett of Laighton Bussard in the County of Bedd Widdow being of perfect mind and memory praised by God doe make and ordaine this my last Will and Testament in manner and forme following (that is to say) ffirst I comend my Soul into the hands of God who gave it and my Body I committ to the Earth to be decently buryed and as concerning my temporall Estate as it hath pleased God to bestow upon me I give and dispose thereof as followeth Imprimis I give and bequeath unto my Neece Elizabeth the Wife of Thomas Aslin of the Towne of Buckingham in the County of Bucks Malster and to my Neece ffrances Worsley Spinster Daughter of my Sister Jane Worsley each of them Twenty Pounds apeece of lawfull money of England Item I give and bequeath unto my Nephew John Stuchbury Sonne of my Brother Andrew Stuchbury fforty shillings of lawfull money of England Item I give and bequeath ffive pounds of lawfull money of England to be putt out at Interest upon good Security by my Executors herein named and the Interest and increase thereof to be payd to Elizabeth Stuchbury Widdow latte Wife of my Nephew Christopher Stuchbury dureing her life and after her decease the said ffive pounds to be equally divided between the Children that shall be then liveing of my said Nephew Christopher Stuchbury Item I give and bequeath unto my Neeces Mary Squire and Joane Shelton Daughters of my Brother Andrew Stuchbury each of them fforty shillings of lawfull money of England Item all the rest and residue of my personall Estate goods and chattells whatsoever (not herein before by me bequeathed) I give and bequeath to my loveing Nephews John Worsley of Winsloe in the County of Bucks Carpenter and William Shelton of Winsloe aforesaid Cordwainer and Oliver Maine of Winsloe Bricklayer whom I make full Executors of this my last Will and Testament and my mind and Will is that if my said Nephew John Worsley shall be Marryed or Marry to Rebecca Hunt of Winsloe aforesaid Spinster that then my said Nephew John Worsley shall not act or be one of the Executors of this my last Will and Testament neither that hee have any part or share of my personall estate goods or chattells whatsoever And that if it soe happen that my said Nephew John Worsley be Marryed or Marry to the said Rebecca Hunt then my mind and Will is that my said Nephews William Shelton and Oliver Maine be Executors of this my last Will and Testament without my said Nephew Jon Worsley and that they the said William Shelton and Oliver Maine have that part of my personall Estate goods and chattells which otherwise I had hereby given and bequeathed to the said John Worsley In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year first above written the marke of Mary Doggett in the presence of Thomas Poor John Penington the marke of Alice Canon
