September Anno Domi’ 1646 I Katherine Devis of Newton in
Makerfield in the Countie of Lancaster widdow beinge sicke in
bodie but of good and p’fect memorie thankes bee to god Doe
ordeyne .......... and make this my last will & testament in
manner and forme followinge first and principally I committ my
soule into the handes of Almightie god my maker & creator
trustinge to bee saved by the pr’cious bloodsheedinge and merite
of Jesus Christ my redeemer And my bodie to bee buried in the
Chirtian buriall in the parish Church of Winwicke at the
discretion of my execator heere after named And for all the
worldly goods that god hath blessed mee w’th all I doe ...easae

my will that my funerall expences bee discharged out of my

unto John Houghton of Heydocke James ............. and Charles
