A memorial of the Last Will and Testament of GEORGE DENT of Turnerholme in the parish of Romaldkirk and County of York yeoman deceased bearing date 12 June 1778 in manner and form following that is to say

I give and devise unto my nephew JOHN RAINE now of Turnerholme aforesaid son of JOHN RAINE of Lonton in the said parish and County All those my houses in Barnard Castle with the yard and Back building and appurtenances thereto belonging to hold the same to him the said JOHN RAINE and his assigns forever.

I give to my sister MARGARET DENT the use of the West Room on the second floor of my dwelling house at Turnerholme for her life rent free without paying anything for the same and subject thereto I give and bequeath unto my nephew JOHN RAINE all my said dwelling house and also the house adjoining thereto and also all my estate of land messuages lands tenements at Turnerholme of the yearly rent of £2 13s 4d together To hold the same .... for the residue of the term of 1,000 years for which I hold the same which said premises are situate at Barnard Castle in County Durham and at Turnerholme in Lunedale in the parish of Romaldkirk and North Riding of the County of York and which said will was witnessed by Henry Machel, clerk, James Hogg yeoman and Lancelot Harrison gentleman, all of the parish of Romaldkirk
