In the name of God
Amen I John Davis
of the Parish of
Horsington in the County of Somersett, Thatcher Do declare this
to be my last Will and Testament in Manner and form following (Viz)
First I give the South Part (or Tenement) of my now
Dwelling-house with the Garden towards the South thereunto
Adjoining unto my Wife Elizabeth Davis for the Term of her
natural Life, & after her Decease I give the same unto my
Granddaughter Ann Seymour (of the Parish of Henstridge in the
County aforesaid) for the Term whereby I hold the same _ Next I
Give the North Part (or Tenement) of my now Dwelling-house unto
Mary Davis (Widow of my late son Edwd. Davis) with the Outhouse
& Garden & Orchard thereunto adjoining for the Term of her
natural life, and after her Decease I Give unto my Grandchildren
Sons & daughters of my late Son Edward Davis the aforesaid North
Tenement with the Outhouse, Garden & Orchard Adjoining to be
equally Divided amongst them _ Next I Give unto my Son Wm Davis
the House with the Garden thereunto Adjoining where he now
Resides Situate in the parish of Horsington aforesaid for the
Term of his natural Life & from and after his Decease I Give the
same unto his Son James Davis his Heirs and Assigns for ever _
Next I Give unto my Daughter in Law Betty Davis Wife of my Son
John Davis a Tenement with a Garden Plot thereunto belonging
(which Tenement and Garden Plot is now Occupied by my son John
Davis) for the Term of her natural Life _ And from & after the
Decease of the aforesaid Betty Davis I give the same unto my
Grand Son John Davis Son of the aforesaid Betty Davis to him &
his Heirs and Assigns for ever
Next I Give a Tenement
with a Garden, Orchard & Workshop thereunto belonging situate in
South Cheriton and at this time Occupied by Thomas Parsons unto
my Daughter Judith Davis her Heirs & Assigns for ever I Also
give unto my Daughter Judith Davis my Cider Mill & Press with
all my Household Goods & Furniture Working Tools & to have the
same for her own natural use and to dispose of the same at her
discretion & I Appoint my aforesaid Daughter Judith Davis to be
my Executrix to this my Will _ Next I Give to my Son in Law
Thomas Seymor the Sum of Ten Pounds of Lawful Money of Great
Britain to be paid him at One Month after my Decease _ Next I
Give to my Wife Elizabeth Davis the Interest of Thirty Pounds
for the Term of her natural Life & after the Decease of my Wife
aforesaid it is my Will that the Principal Sum of Thirty Pounds
be equally Divided between the Surviving Children of my late
Sons Edward Davis my Son John Davis my son William Davis to be
paid to them at the End of One Month after the Decease of my
Wife Aforesaid. Next I Give to my son John Davis the Sum of One
Pound to be paid him at the End of one Month after my Decease
All the Rest & Residue of my Money & Effects I Give to my
Daughter Judith Davis aforesaid whom I have Appointed as my
Executrix to this my Will _____

Mr John Brine of Temple
and Abbas Coombe and Mr. Joseph Burbridge Sharp of Horsington in
the County of Somersett to be Trustees to see this my last Will
and Testament Executed _____ In witness whereof I have here unto
sett my hand & Seal this twenty first Day of January in the
year of our Lord One thousand Eight Hundred and Thirteen ____
