The Will of George Davidson

 

This is the last will and testament of me George Davidson of West Acomb in the parish of Saint John lee in the county of Northumberland Husbandman, Whereas many articles of household furniture now in my house belong to my grandaughter Mary Ann Davidson daughter of y late son George Davidson deceased and I have in my hands the sum of fifty pounds to which she became entitled under the will of Ann Rowell late of West Acomb aforesaid Widow deceased – Now I direct that my executor hereinafter named to deliver to the said Mary Ann Davidson all the said article of household furniture immediately after my decease and also immediately after my decease to pay to the said Mary Ann Davidson the sum of fifty pounds in discharge of the said sum of fifty pounds belonging to her and so being in my hands as aforesaid but without any interest for the same as I consider that I have fully satisfied for all interest by having brought up and maintained my said grandaughter – And Whereas I have advanced all my children except my son John Davidson – Now I give and bequeath to my said son John Davidson all my personal estate whatsoever subject to the payment of my just debts and funeral and testamentary expenses and the aforesaid direction in favour of my said grandaughter for his own use absolutely and I appoint my said son John Davidson sole executor of this my last will and testament and I revoke all other will and wills by me at any time heretofore made In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this sixth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty

I do hereby certify that on the 18th day of February in the year of our Lord 1851, John Davidson of West Acomb in the parish of saint John Lee in the County of Northumberland, Farmer, the son sole Executor named in this the last will & Testament of George Davidson late of West Acomb aforesaid in the Province of York yeoman deceased was sworn well & truly to execute & perform the same & that the whole of the goods, chattels & credits of the said deceased within the province of York do not amount in value to the sum of one thousand pounds
