I Thomas Dancey of Atworth otherwise
Atwood in the Parish of Bradford in the County of Wilts
Innkeeper do hereby make this my last Will and Testament in
manner following that is to say I direct that all my just debts
ffuneral and Testamentary expences shall be fully paid and
discharged by my Executors hereinafter named as soon as
conveniently may be after my decease out of my Personal Estate I
give and devise all that my ffreehold Cottage or Tenement with
the Garden Court Yard and Appurtenances situate in Atworth
otherwise Atwood aforesaid which I sometimes since purchased of
John Boulter and Stephen Boulter And also all that my ffreehold
Cottage or Tenement with the Garden Court Yard and Appurtenances
situate in Atworth otherwise Atwood aforesaid now or late in the
tenure or occupation of Elizabeth Hook Widow And all the Rest
and Residue of my real Estate whatsoever and wheresoever unto my
dear Wife Ann Dancey and her Assigns for the term of her natural
life And from and immediately after her decease I give and
devise the same unto and to the use of my Son in Law William
Newman (the Son of my said Wife by her first Husband) his heirs
and Assigns for ever I give and bequeath the sum of One hundred
and ffifty pounds unto and to be equally divided between all and
every the Children of the said William Newman who shall be
living at the time of the decease of my said Wife and to be paid
and divided unto and amongst them in equal shares within twelve
Calendar months next after my decease and if there be but one
Child then to such only Child Also I give and bequeath unto my
dear Wife Ann Dancey her Executors Administrators and Assigns
all my Leasehold Messuages Cottages or Tenements pieces of
Ground situate and being in Atworth otherwise Atwood aforesaid
wioth the Gardens and Appurtenances thereto respectively
belonging for and during all the residue of the several terms of
years for which I hold the same and for all other the Estate and
interest whatsoever which I shall have therein at the time of my
decease and also all my household ffurniture Stock in trade
monies debts and other personal Estate and effects whatsoever To
hold the same unto my said Wife her Executors Administrators and
Assigns for her and their own absolute use and benefit I do
hereby nominate and appoint my said Wife and the said William
Newman Executrix and Executor of this my Will And I do declare
that the receipts of my said Executors shall be sufficient
discharges for the monies therein belonging to be received and
that they and their respective Executors Administrators and
Assigns shall be charged and chargeable only with such monies as
they shall actually receive notwithstanding their or either of
them signing any receipt or receipts for the sake of Conformity
And each of them shall only be answerable for herself or himself
and her and his own Acts and not for any Broker Banker or any
other person with whom any monies shall be deposited nor for the
insufficiency or deficiency of any security nor for any other
misfortune loss or damage in the execution of the trusts of this
my Will unless the same shall happen by or through their own
willful default respectively And it shall be lawful for them to
retain to and reimburse themselves respectively out of the trust
Estate and premises comprised in or arise under this my Will all
costs damages and expences which they or either of them shall or
may suffer sustain expend or disburse in or about the execution
of the trusts of this my Will or any of them or in relation
thereto In Witness whereof I the said testator have to this my
last Will and Testament set my hand and Seal this seventeenth
day of November one thousand eight hundred and thirty two Thos
