In the name of God Amen: I Xoferi Dabinot
of Upway, Dorset
The first day of July Anno dei 1637. I
Christofer Dabinot of Upway in the Countie of Dorsett yeoman
being weake in body but perfect in remembrance thanks bee given
to almightie god doe make and my last will and testament in
manner and forme following. ffirst I give and bequeath my soule
into the hands of Almightie god my maker desiring him for the
mediacon [mediation] and merritts of his sonne Jesus Christ that
hee will accept and receive the same and my body I will to bee
buried in the Church of Upway by my wife, Item I give and
bequeath to the poore people of the parish of Upway fortie
shillings of lawfull English money Item I give and bequeath to
the poor people of Whitestanton forty shillings of like money.
Item I give to the poore people of Marshwood twentie shillings
Item I give and bequeath to my daughter Anne Gibbs wife to
Anthony Gibbs of Marshwood fifty pounds of lawfull money of
England to bee delivered to her wthin one halfe yeare
after my decease by my Executor which money my will
is that shee shall have use and imploy to her owne proper use
without any claime or title of her husband to it Item I give
and bequeath unto John Haine son of Morgan and Ralin Haine
my daughter the Sume of one hundred pounds of lawfull
money of England. Item I give and bequeath unto Samuel Haine
son of the said Morgan and Ralin the sume of one hundred
pounds of like lawfull money Item I give and bequeath unto
Gideon Haine son of the said Morga and Ralin the sume of one
hundred pounds of like money Item I give and bequeath unto
Beniamin Haine son of the said Morgan and Ralin the some of
one hundred pounds Item I give and bequeath unto Sara Haine
daughter of the said Morgan and Ralin the sume of one
hundred pounds of like lawfull money And my will is that if any
one or more of them doe happen to die before hee shee or they
doe marry or accomplish the age of one and twentie years, that
then such money as is left and not bestowed by the consent of my
Executors to redound unto the rest of them which
shalbee living. Item I give and bequeath to Joseph Newbery
son of Thomas Newbery and Joane his wife
fiftie pounds of lawfull English money Item I give and bequeath
to Beniamin Newbery son of the said Thomas and Joane
my daughter deceased the sume of threescore pounds of
like lawfull money Item I give and bequeath unto John
Newbury son of the said Thoms and Joane the sume of
fifty pounds of like lawfull money Item I give and bequeath
unto Sara Newbury, daughter of the said Thoms and
Joane the sume of fifty pounds of like lawfull money Item I
give and bequeath unto Mary Newbury daughter of the
said Thoms and Joane fifty pounds of like lawfull
money And my will is that all such sume and sumes of money wch
are giuen as abouesaid by mee unto the children of Morgan and
Ralin Haine shalbee paid unto them within one halfe yeare next
after my decease And all such money as is given by mee unto the
children of Thoms Newbury and Joane my daughter to bee
paid unto them or either of them according to their porcons
[portions] at such convenient time or times as they are either
of them shall make and give a ?? discharge to my Executor
And my will is that Morgan Haine shall have the yerely value of
five pounds out of the ffarme of Upway during his life, And I
give and bequeath unto him ?? pounds. And all the rest of my
goods and shattles moueable and unmoveable in whose hands or
Custodies soever they bee giue and wholly bequeath unto Anthonie
Gibbs whom I doe ordaine and make my sole and only Executor
in ?? for the abouesaid children. And I give and bequeath unto
the said Anthony Gibbs the some of fifty pounds of lawfull money
of England, And for the manifestation of this my last will and
testamt for I have written my Name wth my
owne hand the day and yeare first above written in the presence
of theis witnesses
