The Will of George Cribb

 

In the Name of God Amen I George Cribb of Southbrook in the parish of Bere Regis in the County of Dorsett Yeoman doe make this my lsat Will & Testament Revoking and makeing void all other Wills & Testaments by me formerly made or caused to be made I being at this time nott well of bodily health yett perfect & sound of memory Blessed & praysed be Almighty God


First I comend my soule into the hands of Almighty God my maker hopeing & trusting for Salvation thereof by noe other way but through the merritts death & passion of my only Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ & my body I comitt to the earth to be decently interred according to the discretion of my Executrix hereafter herein named and for all such Temporall estate as it hath pleased God to bestow upon me I give & dispose as followeth,

Item I doe give unto my Brother Nowell Cribb the Sum of Seaven pounds to be paid him at the end of Six Monthes after my decease

Item I doe give to my two neeces Dorothy & Temperance Cribb the Sume of fifteen pounds a peice to be paid them at the respective ages of one & Twenty yeares or in three Monthes after their dayes of Marriage & Interest thereof as itt shall be come due to the time of payment of the sd severall sums from the end of six Months after my decease shall be reserved for there use & behoofe & disposed of both the principle till such said times of paymt nott without the consent & approbation of my said Executrix hereafter named

Item I doe give to my Nephew Thomas Cribb that now dwelleth wth me the Sume of five pounds to be paid him att the age of one & Twenty yeares & till such time of payment both itt & its Interest shall not be disposed of without the consent & approbation of my Executrix & to become due to his use from the end of six months after my decease

Itm I doe give unto Ann Cribb daughter of my Eldest brother John Cribb deceased the sume of three pounds to be paid her att the end of Six Months after my decease

Itm I doe give unto Elizabeth the wife of Richard Woollfryes of Southbrooke aforesd, and unto Alice the wife of Thomas Camell of Stoborrow, & unto Hannah Cribb of the same place widdow & unto Elizabeth the Wife of Henery Potter of the parish of Bere Regis the Sume of Fourty shillings apeice to be paid them att the end of three Monthes after my decease

Item I doe give unto my Brother Hugh Cribb & to my Sister Mary the Wife of John Gregory Ten Shillings a piece

Item I doe give all my right & Interest in a certaine Tenemt in Stoborrow in the sd County wch I had due & belonging to me by a Joynt Administration wth others for the goods & Chattells of my brother Henery Cribb late deceased unto & for the only proper use & behoofe of all the children of my Brother Thomas Cribb late deceased & to be distributed yearly to each of them alike share of the profits thereof as itt shall arise thereout to be done by the order, consent and approbation of my said Executrix provided that a certaine Sume of five pounds wch is by me & my sd brother Hugh Cribb & George Loupe being other Adminsts to the sd Henery Cribb consented to be raised & paid according to the agreemt made towards the keeping of the youngest of the said children, after the sd five pounds shall be raised, then I give & bequeath all my right in the said Tenemt as aforesd to them all as aforesd

Now all the residue & remainder of all my reall & personall Estate goods & Chattells whatsoever not before herein given or mentioned to be given I doe give & bequeath unto my dear & Loveing wife Jane Cribb whom I doe make my full & sole Executrix of this my last Will & Testamt In Witness whereof I the said George Cribb doe here sett my hand & Seal the Second day of October in the five & thirtieth year of the Reign of our Soveraign Lord Charles the Second of England the King defender of the faith etc. Annoq Dom 1683
