Text:
In the Name of God, Amen. I,
Frances Conquest, widow of John
Thimelby Conquest deceased,
being in an indifferent good
state of health but considering
the incertainty of this mortal
life do make this my last will
and testament in manner and form
following
And first and principally I
recommend my soul to God, my
body to the earth to be decently
buried as my executrix herein
after named shall think fit
And as to my worldly substance I
dispose thereof as followeth:
Item my will is that all my just
debts be paid. Item I give to my
loving son Benedict Conquest
five pounds to buy him a ring to
wear in memory of me, upon this
condition nevertheless that he
the said Benedict Conquest do
release to my executrix
hereinafter named all the
actions and demands both in law
and equity as on any pretence
whatsoever he may pretend
against me as executrix to his
father or upon any other accompt
whatsoever. And in case he shall
refuse to execute such release
then the legacy hereby
bequeathed shall be utterly void
and he to take nothing by this
my will
And I do hereby conjure my said
son by the duty he owes to me as
his parent not to sue, molest or
trouble my executrix hereinafter
named or hinder her from the
enjoyment of what is given or
intended for her by this my will
Item, I do give and bequeath to
my trusty and good servant Mary
Prime all my ready money, plate,
jewels, household stuff, and
implements of household stuff,
mortgages, debts, and all other
my personal estate whatsoever
and whatever I have or can claim
by the will of John Thimelby
Conquest or otherwise howsoever
and all my real and personal
estate of what nature and kind
soever to her the said Mary
Prime, her heirs, executors and
administrators, to her own use
in recompense of her long and
faithful service to me
And I do hereby revoke all
former wills by me made and of
this my last will and testament
I make the said Mary Prime my
sole executrix.
In witness whereof I the said
Frances Conquest have to this my
last will and testament set my
hand and seal this seventh day
of August One thousand seven
hundred and one and in the
thirteenth year of his present
majesty’s reign King William the
Third over England Frances
