The Will of William Clark

 

This is the last Will and Testament of me William Clark of Thorp on the Hill in the County of Lincoln, yeoman hereby revoking all former and other Wills by me made.  I give and devise all that one Oxgang of land meadow and pasture with the appurtenances situate lying and being in Waddington in the County of the City of Lincoln now in the tenure or occupation of Richard Clark his undertenants or afsigns and which I purchased of and from Thomas Smith and Elizabeth his wife, unto my brother CHARLES CLARK of Waddington aforesaid his heirs and afsigns forever.  Subject neverthelefs to the payment of such legacies and sums of money as I shall hereafter in and by this my Will charge the same with.  Also I give and bequeath unto my brother JOHN CLARK of North Hykeham in the said County of Lincoln the sum of ten pounds to be paid to him by my Executor hereinafter named within twelve months after my decease.  Also I give and bequeath unto my brother THOMAS CLARK of Leadenham in the said County of Lincoln the like sum of ten pounds to be paid to him by my said Executor within twelve months after my decease.  Also I give and bequeath to my brother BENJAMIN CLARK of Waddington aforesaid the like sum of ten pounds to be paid to him by my said Executor within twelve months after my decease.  Also I give and bequeath unto my Sister ANN HUNT the wife of Thomas Hunt of Thorpe on the Hill aforesaid the sum of ten pounds to be paid to her by my said Executor within twelve months after my decease.  Also I give and bequeath unto my Sister MARY CLARK of Waddington aforesaid the sum of ten pounds to be paid to her by my said Executor within twelve months after my decease.  And I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my said brother Charles Clark sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament he paying all my debts and funeral expenses.  And I do hereby charge and make chargeable the said one oxgang of land so devised by me to my said brother and Executor CHARLES CLARK with the payment of all the legacies so by me bequeathed unto my said brothers and sisters as aforesaid.  In witnefs whereof I the said William Clark have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand and seal this Fourteenth day of February One Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy Five.  Signed William Clark
