The Will of Thomas Clark

I Thomas
Clark of the
Parish of
Pinchbeck in
the County
of Lincoln
Farmer being
weak of Body
but of sound
Mind and
Memory, do
hereby Name,
constitute
and appoint
this my last
Will &
Testament in
manner &
form
following,
that is to
say, After
my Body is
decently
laid in the
Ground by my
Executors
hereinafter
named, I
give &
bequeath as
follows.
Imprimis. I
give &
bequeath to
my Son Ralph
Clark fifty
pounds. I
also give &
bequeath to
my Daughter
Jane Clark
fifty
pounds. I
also give &
bequeath to
my Daughter
Mary Clark
fifty
pounds. I
also give &
bequeath to
my Daughter
Anne Clark
fifty
pounds. I
also give &
bequeath to
my Son
Thomas Clark
one hundred
pounds. I
also give &
bequeath to
my Sister
Hannah the
wife of
Thomas
Goodborne
five
shillings. I
also give &
bequeath to
my Wife Anne
Clark the
Interest of
300 Pounds
to be paid
her half
Yearly, so
long as she
continues my
widow, to be
paid her out
of my Estate
& Effects by
my Executors
hereafter
Named, but
if she
should
Marry, or if
it should
please God
she should
Die, then
the said
Money to go
& be equally
divided
amongst my
own Children
mentioned
aforesaid.
After they
are brought
up &
schooling &
all expenses
paid out of
my Effects &
to be
Educated
Clothed &
maintained
in a decent
manner, I
also give &
bequeath to
the Children
of my Wife
by a former
Husband,
William,
Lucy,
Samuel,
Thomas &
George Frear
five pounds
each. I also
give &
bequeath to
Absalom
Crampton,
the son of
James
Crampton,
five Pounds.
I also give
& bequeath
to my
Executors
herein named
five Pounds
each for
their
trouble for
the due
performance
& executing
of this my
last Will &
Testament.
And my will
& pleasure
is that all
these
Legacies
shall be
paid out of
my Estates &
Effects
without any
Deduction.
And Lastly,
my Will &
pleasure is
that all my
Estates
being
situated in
Pinchbeck
aforesaid &
a small part
in the
parish of
Gosberton in
the said
County of
Lincoln
aforesaid,
shall be
sold to pay
off the
Legacies
mentioned
aforesaid,
with all my
lawful
Debts. Then
if any Money
remain, as
well as all
the rest,
remainder,
residue &
such as
Stock,
Household
Goods,
Plates,
Linen,
Money, or
Moneys
worth,
Bonds,
Debts, Dues
& Demands, &
all and
every kind
of thing
that I am
pofsefsed of
at the time
of my
Decease
whatsoever,
&
wheresoever
& what kind
soever, I
give &
bequeath to
my own
Children,
Ralph, Jane,
Mary, Ann
and Thomas
Clark as
mentioned
aforesaid to
be equally
divided
amongst
them. And I
do hereby
Name
Nominate
constitute &
appoint my
two Friends
Mr Jno Fox
of Pinchbeck
aforesaid &
John
Leverton of
Pinchbeck
aforesaid
joint
Executors to
this my last
Will &
Testament,
revoking all
Wills &
bequeaths at
any time
made by me
gratifying &
confirming
this as my
last Will &
Testament.
