The Will of Rebecca Clark
In the Name of God Amen The first day of March in the year of our Lord 1776 I Rebecca Clark in the County of Kent Widow belonging to his Majesty's Navy being very sick and weak in Body and knowing that I have perfect mind and memory thanks be to God for it therefore calling into mind the Mortality of my Body and knowing that it is appointyd for all to die once do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament that is to say principally and first of all I give and commend my Soul to God that gave it and for my Body I recommend it to the Earth to be Buried in a Christian like and decent manner at the discretion of my Executors hoping at the Resurrection I shall receive it again by the Mighty Power of God and as touching my Worldly Goods I give and bequeath them to my son in Law Godwin Oakshott as to the Money that is or may become due to the part of the said G Oakshott to pay himself first and what I may give afterwards as far as it will go Witness Her Mark Rebecca Clark in the presence of Robert Mahallan Edward
