The Will of Ann Clark

 

In the Name of God Amen I Ann Clark of East Ilsley in the County of Berks Spinster Do make this my last Will and Testament in manner following (that is to say) I give devise and bequeath to my Niece Ann Mendham Wife of William Mendham of Lambeth in the County of Surrey Lighterman All that my Estate at East Ilsley in the County of Berks aforesaid And all other my Real and Personal Estate Goods Chattells and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever To hold to her my said Niece her Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns for ever (Subject nevertheless to the Payment of all my just Debts ffuneral and Testamentary Expences and also to the Payment of the Sum of Ten Pounds apiece to each of her Brothers James Deane and John Deane within Twelve Months next after my decease) And I do hereby constitute and appoint her my said Niece sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all other Wills by me heretofore made In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this seventh day of December one thousand seven hundred and eighty seven The Mark X of Ann Clark

Be it known unto all Men by these Presents That I Ann Clark of East Ilsley in the County of Berks Spinster have made and declared that my last Will and Testament in Writing date the seventh Day of December one thousand seven hundred and eighty seven I the said Ann Clark do by these Presents contained in this Codicil confirm and ratify my last Will and I do give and bequeath unto William Allen who now lives in Part of my Dwelling House the Sum of ffive Pounds of lawful Money of Great Britain to be paid within twelve Months next after my decease And my Will and Meaning is that this Codicil be esteemed and adjudged to be Part or Parcel to my said Will and Testament and that all things therein contained and mentioned be faithfully performed in as full and ample a manner in every respect as if the same were so declared and set down in my said Will In Witness whereof I the said Ann Clark have hereunto set my hand and seal the second Day of June one thousand seven hundred and eighty eight (The Mark X of Ann Clark) Signed, sealed, published and declared by the said Ann Clark in the presence of
