The Will of Robert Claridge

 

In the Name of God Amen of Me Robert Claridge of Hooknorton in the County of Oxford, being Weak in Body but of sound Mind and Understanding (Praised be God for the same ) ...of all my Will and Pleasure as that all Legacies and Funeral Expences be fully paid and discharged by my Executor hereinafter Named then I do Give and Devise unto my Brother Richard Claridge the Sum of Four Pounds to be paid by my Executor within Twelve Months next after my decease Also I Give and Devise unto my Sisters Mary Phipps and Rose Barrett the Sum of Five Pounds a Piece To Be paid Them in a Twelve Month after my decease Also I Give and Devise unto my Two Kinsmen William Claridge and Richard Claridge the Sum of Twenty Pounds A piece to be paid them In a Twelvemonth after my decease Also I Give and Devise Unto my Two Kinswomen Elizabeth Wickham and Rose Hows the Sum of Five Pounds A piece to be paid them in a Twelvemonth after my decease Also I give and Devise Unto my Kinsman George Phipps Son of my Sister Mary Phipps the Sum of Four Pounds to be paid him within a Twelve Month after my decease Also I give and Devise Unto my Kinsman Thomas Phipps Son of my Sister Mary Phipps the Sum of Twenty Two Pounds to be paid him within a Twelve Month after my decease Also I give and Devise Unto my Kinsman William Phipps and unto my Kinswoman Mary Hannal Wife of John Hannal (both children of my Sister Mary Phipps) the Sum of Four Pounds a Piece to be paid Them within a Twelve Month after my decease Also I give and Devise unto my Kinsmen William Barrett Anthony Barrett and John Barrett and unto my Kinswomen Ann Barrett and Hannah Barrett Children of my Sister Rose Barrett the Sum of Four Pounds a Piece to be paid Them In a Twelvemonth after my decease Also I Give and Devise unto my Kinsman John Claridge The Messuage or Tenement In Which I Now Inhabit and Dwell Togetherwith the Orchard Yard Backside Garden and all and Singular the Appurtenances Thereunto belonging To hold th him and his Heirs and Assigns for ever Also I give unto my Kinsman John Carige All my Household Goods and Household Stuff of all Kinds Beds Bedding Brasse and Pewter and all the Rest Residue and remainder of my Personal Estate after the Payment of the above mentioned Legacys I give unto my said Kinsman John Clarige whom I do Nominate Constitute and Appoint to be Executor of this my Last Will and Testament hereby Revoking and Disannuling and Making Void all former and other Wills by me at any Time heretofore made In Witness whereof I have unto this my last Will and Testament Set my hand and Seal this Twenty Third day of March in the Year of our Lord 1774
