This is the last Will and Testament of me William Christmas of Shalford in the county of Surry Labourer whereby I direct that all my just debts funeral and testamentary expences be paid by my executors hereinafter named as soon as conveniently shall be after my decease and I give devise and bequeath unto my son George Christmas of Ash in the county of Surry Grocer and to William Street alias ffurlonger of Guildford in the said county Taylor all that my leasehold messuage or tenement piece of Ground and hereditaments situate and lying in and being formerly parcel of the Manor of Brabief in the Parish of Shalford aforesaid and now in my own occupation and all my estate interest and term of years therein To hold the same unto the said George Christmas and William Street alias ffurlonger their executors administrators and assigns upon trust to permit and suffer my Wife Ann Christmas to use and employ the said messuage or tenement piece of Ground and Premises or otherwise to receive the rents and profits thereof during the term of her natural life and from and after the decease of my said Wife I give devise and bequeath the said messuage or tenement piece of Ground and Premises unto and equally between the said George Christmas and William Street alias ffurlonger their executors administrators and assigns for their own use benefit and disposal but as joint tenants with benefit of survivorship between them provided always and it is my Will that in case my said wife shall at any time become so poor as to be unable to maintain herself and the said George Christmas and William Street alias ffurlonger or the survivor of them shall be satisfied of the necessity thereof I order and direct that the said George Christmas and William Street alias ffurlonger and the survivor of them his executors and administrators immediately thereafter to sell and convey the said the said messuage or tenement piece of Ground and Premises to any person or persons who may be willing to become the purchaser or purchasers thereof and by and out of the produce to arise by the sale thereof so far as the same will extend to maintain and support my said wife in a proper and sufficient manner and my said wife shall be so supported and maintained thereout as aforesaid it is my Will that the same shall be retained by the said George Christmas and William Street alias ffurlonger in equal moieties or in case one of them shall then be dead the whole to be retained by the survivor of them his executors and administrators I give & bequeath all the rest and residue of my estate and effects unto my said wife for her own use and benefit and I direct that the receipt of the said George Christmas and William Street alias ffurlonger and of the survivor of them his executors and administrators shall be a good and sufficient discharge to the purchaser of my said messuage or tenement piece of Ground and Premises and that the purchaser of my said messuage or tenement piece of Ground and Premises shall not be obliged to see to the application of the purchase money And I appoint the said George Christmas and William Street alias ffurlonger executors of this my last Will and Testament In witness whereof I the said William Christmas have hereunto set my hand & seal this seventh day of ffebruary one thousand eight hundred and nineteen The marke X and seal of
