The Will of Benjamin Cheverton
In the Name of God Amen I Benjamin Cheverton of the parish of Millbrook in the County of Southampton Gentleman being of sound mind memory & understanding Do make this my last Will & Testament in manner following that is to say I give devise & bequeath unto my dear Wife Ann Cheverton those two dwelling Houses situate in St Thomas Church Yard Winchester & now in the occupation the one of Miss Lipson & the other of Mrs Dunn Also I give devise & bequeath unto my dearly beloved Son Henry Young Cheverton the Sum of Four hundred pounds to be placed in the Funds in the joint Names of my dear Wife Ann Cheverton & my dear Son Henry Young Cheverton so that he may receive & enjoy the same at her decease I give devise & bequeath unto my Great Niece Ann the daughter of James Martin of Portsea Hants the Sum of ten pounds payable to her at my decease Also I give unto William Elliott Merchant City Road London the sum of ten pounds as a token of my respect And I do order that the sum of five hundred pounds be paid at my decease to my second and beloved son James Adams Cheverton as being the sum left him by his Grandfather Edward Hayes Will And I do order that the sum of five hundred pounds be paid at my decease to my youngest beloved son Benjamin Cheverton as being the sum left him by his Grandfather Edward Hayes Will All the rest residue and remainder of my Estate Estates Effects whatsoever wheresoever & of what nature kind or quality the same may consist I give devise & bequeath unto my said son Henry Young Cheverton & the said William Elliott to the business of them his heirs Exors & Admons Upon trust to receive the Rents Issues interest & profits of all my said Real & personal Estates rest and residue thereof & to pay out of it an Annuity of one hundred & eighty pounds to my dear Wife Ann Cheverton for and during the term of her natural life & equally divide every year the remainder of the said Rents Issues interest & profits of my said Real & personal Estates between my said Children or their heirs Andfrom immediately after her decease upon Trust either to sell & ....or equally divide such rest residue and remainder of my said Real & personal Estates between my said Children and their heirs And I do hereby nominate constitute & appoint my said Son Henry Young Cheverton & the said William Elliott Executors In Trust for the Purposes of this my last Will hereby revoking all former Wills by me at any time heretofore made In Witness whereof I the said Benjamin Cheverton the Testator have to this my last Will & Testament set my hand & seal the sixth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & fifteen Benj Cheverton
