The Will of Francis Chester

 

In the Name of God Amen I ffrancis Chester Gentleman of the Parish of Wandsworth in the County of Surry Do make this my last Will and Testament that is to say after the decease of my beloved Wife Mary Chester I do give unto ffrancis Chester my Eldest Son the Sum of Eighty Pounds Bank Stock which is in the five per cents in the Bank of England Also I do give unto William Chester my Younger Son his Heirs Executors Administrators or Assigns the Sum of Eighty Pounds Stock which is in the five per cents in the Bank of England Also I give unto Ann Pye my Daughter Wife of William Pye of Wandsworth Eighty Pounds Bank Stock which is in the five per cents in the Bank of England I also give unto Luke Cade Grocer of the Parish of Chelsea in the County of Middlesex the Sum of Twenty Pounds of lawful Money of Great Britain to him or his Heirs Executors Admors or Assigns I do also give unto John Malone of Wandsworth Thomas Brightwell of Stockwell William Sweets of Mortlake and John May of Wandsworth the sum of Ten Pounds of lawful Money of Great Britain to each of them or their Heirs Executors Admors or Assigns It is my desire that all the Legacies above mentioned shall be paid within six months after the decease of my beloved Wife Mary Chester The remainder of the Money in the Bank of England with all Bond Debts and all other Debts which are or may be due to me and the residue of my Effects such as household ffurniture Plate Linen and Wearing Apparel and all other Effects of any description or denomination whatever I do give unto Mary Chester my beloved Wife for her own disposal I do also appoint Mary Chester my beloved Wife whole and sole Executrix to this my last Will and Testament And if any one should go to Law about anything respecting this my last Will and Testament it is contrary to my desire therefore shall have no benefit in this my Will I do declare this top be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereunto I set my Hand and Seal this thirteenth Day of March in the Year of Our Lord One thousand seven hundred and ninety eight in the thirty eight Year of our Sovereign Lord the King
