The Will of Bernard Calvert

 

In the Name of God Amen I BERNARD CALVERT of Bainbridge in the parish of Aisgarth in the County of York being not in perfect health of Body but of sound and perfect mind and memory Praise be therefore unto Almighty God do make and ordaine this my present Last Will and testament and first and Chiefly I commend my soul to the merciful hands of Almighty God my Creator firmly believing through the merits and mediation of my blessed Saviour and Redeemer  Jesus Christ to Inherit everlasting life and my Body I commit to the ground to be decently Interred at the discretion of my executor after mentioned. And as to my temporal estate I give and devise the same in manner and form following Imprimus I do give and devise unto my brother JAMES CALVERT all my estate in the township of Bainbridge To have and to hold ... and I do make an appoint my brother JAMES CALVERT executor to whom I devise all my personal estate and my said brother paying thereout ... all my debts and Funeral expences In witness whereof I have hereunto put my hand and seal this 11 April 1747
