The Will of John Bythewood
This is the Last will
& Testament of me John Bythewood of
Stoborough in the Parish of Trinity in
Wareham & County of Dorset Tanner Made 7
published this twenty first day of ffebruary
in the year of our Lord 1726
I Give my daughter Ann the sume of fifty
pounds (more than what was given her on her
Marriage) to be Laid out in land & Settled
to her for Life & after her decease to the
heirs of her body for ever & for want of
such heirs then to Remaine to my Granson
John Brixey & his heires And my will is that
after my wifes widdowhood that my son John
shall have and injoye my estate my estate at
Ulwell bought of Mr Banks & alsoe the estate
bought of Mr ffarrington during his Life &
after his decease to remaine to my three
daughters during the Remainder of the terme
then to Come equaley divided between them, I
give unto my Wife during her Life the now
house & garden Lately the widdow Kings & now
in the possion of my son John And I Give
unto my wife of Beding & household
goods………………her widdowhood & after shee shall
marrey or dye the goods shall shall…………..my
Children then Living I Give unto my son John
after my decease all the Rest of my lands
(except what is hereafter excepted) to he
for Life & after his decease to the heires
Male of his bodey And my will is that if my
Son John dye without Heirs male that then
after his decease my Lands shall Remaine to
my three daughters & after their decease to
the heires of their bodeys for ever And my
will is that if my daughter ffrances shall
outLive & Survive her Sister Mary & her
brother John & her brother shall at his
decease Leave an heire male My will is that
my daughter ffrances shall Receive & take
yearly out of my Lands during her Life the
sume of five pounds to be equally divided
between my daughters ffrances & Ann & after
Anns decease to Remaine to my daughter
ffrances during her Life by two halfe yearly
payments & for such payment shee shall
…….And I Give to my Son John during his Life
the house & garden….& alsoe the house &
garden ajoyning to the house wherein I now
Liveth with the waste ground belonging to it
Latly bought of Mr Pitt & alsoe the garden
at Wareham caled Bels garden And after his
decease to remaine to my three daughters or
the Survivor during the terme then to come
And I give to my wife during her widowhood
the house & garden in Lane where Henry
Tarrent now Liveth And I Give to my three
daughters Mary Ryall ffrances Brixey And Ann
Cribb the Sume of twenty pounds each to be
paid by my executrix within two years after
my decease I give to each of my Children a
gold Ring which I have in House I Give unto
my five grand Children John & Geo Brixey &
ffrances Hanah & Mary Bythewood the sume of
Twenty Pounds each to be paid within three
years after ……. And I doe make my wife
executrix of this my Last will & testament
