In the Name of God Amen This is the last will and Testament of me Rachael Butler of Elsfield in the County of Oxford Widow made published and declared this Tenth day of ffebruary in the Year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and Ninety six and first and Principally I recommend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God and I commit my Body to the Earth to be decently buried by my Executor hereinafter named and as for my worldly Estate I give and dispose of the same in manner following that is to say I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Mary the Wife of John Borlase of the City of Oxford Corn Dealer the Sum of One hundred pounds to be paid to her by my Executor hereinafter named in manner following that is to say the Sum of fifty Pounds within one Year after my decease and the remaining Sum of ffifty Pounds by yearly payments of Ten Pounds per Year until the whole is paid and I direct that the same shall be paid to her sole and separate from her sole and separate use and not be liable to the Debts engagements or Controul of her said Husband I also give and bequeath unto my daughter Ann Butler the Legacy or Sum of Three hundred and ffifty Pounds which I order and direct shall be paid to her by my said Executor in manner following that is to say the Sum of One hundred and ffifty Pounds within one year and the remaining Sum of Two hundred Pounds within three years I also give and bequeath unto my said daughter Ann Butler the whole of my wearing apparel and half of the Household Goods Linen Plate and China which shall be in the House at my decease save and except the Goods Utensils and Implements which shall be in the Dairy washouse Brewhouse and Cellar of the said House and all the rest and residue of my said Goods Chattels and Personal Estate which I shall die possessed of or entitled unto I give unto my Son John Butler and I do hereby nominate and appoint him sole Executor of this my will he paying my just Debts Legacies and ffuneral and Testamentary Expences and in testimony that this is my last Will and Testament contained in two Sheets of Paper I have to the first Sheet thereof set my hand and to this last Sheet thereof set my hand and Seal the day and year first above written The mark of the above Testatrix X Rachel Butler
