This is the last Will and Testament of me George Burton of Devonshire Buildings Great Dover Road in the Parish of St Mary Newington being of sound mind I leave and bequeath unto my only Daughter Elizabeth Jane Christy Wife of John Christy the ffreehold Ground rent of three pounds three shillings per annum of the house No 135 situated in the High Street Borough of Southwark in the occupation of John Pen Tobacconist likewise all my Personal & Real Property of whatsoever nature or kind with all debts that may be due to me at the time of my decease for her my Daughters sole use & benefit independent of her husband John Christy after all my just debts and funeral expences are paid I hereby appoint Robert Wood formerly of the Bull Inn Great Dover Road (Landlord) my Executor of this my last Will & Testament Signed sealed & delivered this eleventh day of January one thousand eight hundred & thirty seven by us in the presence of each other George Burton
