by the Grace of God of
sound and disposing mind
memory and understanding
Do make my last Will and
Testament in manner and
form following ffirst
and Principally I
commend my Soul to
Almighty God my Creator
hoping through the
Merits of Jesus Christ
to obtain remission of
all my Sins and Life
Everlasting And my Body
I commit to the Earth to
be decently interred at
the discretion of my
Executor hereafter named
and as to my temporal
Estate and Effects after
all my just Debts and
ffuneral Charges and
Expences are paid I
dispose of the same as
follows I do hereby
nominate and appoint Mr
John Skegg of Mansion
House Street in the City
of London to be Executor
of this my last Will and
Testament And I give and
bequeath unto the said
John Skegg the Sum of
One hundred Pounds for
his trouble in the
Execution thereof Also I
give and bequeath to the
Governors of Christ’s
Hospital for the time
being the Sum of One
Hundred Pounds for the
use of the said Hospital
Also I give and bequeath
unto my Sister Jane Burr
the Sum of One thousand
Pounds and as to all my
Household Goods and
ffurniture And the
Remainder and Residue of
all my estate and
Effects whatsoever and
of what nature soever
the same may be I give
and bequeath the same to
my Maid Servant Ann
Dakin for her to enjoy
and dispose of the same
in such manner as she
shall think fit And I do
hereby make void all
former Wills Codicils
and Testamentary
Dispositions by me
heretofore made or
signed In Witness
whereof I have hereunto
set my hand and seal the
