Farmer) who died on the 18th
March 1936

wrong place.

been transcribed as it reads.

This is the last Will and
Testament of me Clifford Burnett
of Dapplemere, Desford in the
County of Leicester made this
25th day of November 1929 day of
In the year of our Lord one
thousand nine hundred and
I hereby revoke all Wills made
by me at any time heretofore I
appoint my Wife Helen Halford
Burnett of Dapplemere Desford
Leicester and my Daughter May
Mawdsley of 64 Liverpool Road
Birkdale Southport to be my
Executors, and direct that all
my Debts and Funeral Expenses
shall be paid as soon as
conveniently may be after my
decease.
I give and bequeath unto my dear
Wife Helen Halford Burnett (who
is otherwise well provided for)
the field of land situated in
Pickleton Lane which I bought
from Mr(s?) Walter Arnaud (?)
also any furniture & effects
motor cars (?) etc belonging to
me at Desford all free of duty.
I give to my daughter May
Mawdsley her heirs & assigns the
sum of one thousand pounds
(£1000) free of duty. I give to
my Grandson Clifford Burnett
Mawdsley son of the above May
Mawdsley the sum of £1000 free
of duty. I give to my adopted
daughter Elizabeth (Betty)
Burnett the sum of £1000 free of
duty. I give to my man A C
Burt-Spencer (?) if still in my
service at the time of my death
the sum of £100 free of duty.
The residue of my estate I leave
in equal shares to my wife Helen
Halford Burnett, & my daughter
May Mawdsley, but I direct that
fifteen hundred pounds (£1500)
out of the residue shall be
placed on trust to pay the
annuities to my three sisters
during their lives, also an
additional sum of £25 per annum
to my sister Florence Burnett
during her life. I direct that
my trustees shall sell my Farm
Lindridge Fields my Farm at
Arncote and my land at Win Hill
if possible.

Probate of Will of
Clifford Burnett (Retired
Farmer) of Dapplemere, Desford,
Leicestershire
who died on 18 March 1936
In His Majesty’s High Court of
Justice
The Principal Probate Registry
BE IT KNOWN that Clifford
Burnett of Dapplemere Desford in
the County of Leicester died
there on the 18th day of March
1936
AND BE IT FURTHER KNOWN that at
the date hereunder written the
last Will and Testament (a copy
whereof is hereunto annexed) of
the said deceased was proved and
registered in the Principal
Probate Registry of His
Majesty’s High Court of Justice
and that Administration of all
the Estate which by law devolves
to and vests in the personal
representative of the said
deceased was granted by the
aforesaid Court to Helen Halford
Burnett of Dapplemere aforesaid
widow the relict of deceased and
May Mawdsley of 33 Waterloo Road
Birkdale Southport in the County
of Lancaster widow daughter of
deceased the executors named in
the said will
And it is hereby certified that
an Affadavit for Inland Revenue
has been delivered wherein it is
shown that the gross value of
the said Estate in Great Britain
(exclusive of what the said
deceased may have been possessed
of or entitled to as a Trustee
and not beneficially) amounts to
£13815 -13 - 2 and that the net
value of the personal estate
amounts to £10194 -1- 8
And it is further certified that
it appears by a Receipt signed
by an Inland Revenue Officer
that £616 - 11 - 1 on account of
Estate Duy and Interest on such
duty has been paid.
