The Will of John Burden

 

In the name of God Amen.

 

I John Burden of East Stoke in the county of Dorset, Miller, being weak and sick of body but of sound and perfect memory, thanks be to God, do make and ordain this as my last Will and Testament, in manner and form following:

 

Firstly, I give my daughter Tamson Hatcher? (surname rather indistinct) one shilling.

Item, I give unto my daughter Sara one shilling.

Item, I give unto my daughter Elizabeth one shilling.

Item, I give unto my son William Burden one shilling.

Item, I give unto my daughter Alice one shilling.

Item, I give unto my daughter Christian? one shilling.

Item, I give unto my daughter Jane one shilling.

Item, I give unto my daughter Mary one shilling.

Item, I give unto my son Richard one shilling.

All the Rest, Residue and Overplus of my Goods and Chattels, Credits and Personal Estate whatsoever, after my Debts Legacies and Funeral Expenses are fully satisfied and paid, I do give and bequeath unto Alice Burden my only wife whom I do make and ordain Sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament revoking all former Wills by me at any time heretofore made. In witness whereof I have hereto set my hand and seal this the fifth day of September Anno Domini 1725.   John Burden.
