The Will of William Buckland
In the name of God Amen I William Buckland of
Welford in the Countey of Northampton Labourer beeing sick in body but
of parfect mind and memory doth make this my last will and testament in
maner and form following
ffirst I bequeath my Soule in to the hands of Almighty God my maker and
in Jesus Crist my redeemer by death and Resurrection I hope to ……and my
body to be Cristianly buryed at the discretion of mine Executor
Item I Give to my youngest soon John Buckland tenn pounds of good and
Lawfull money of England to be paid him at the Age of fifteen years out
of the house and homested and by my Eldest Soon William Buckland if hee
Live to Come to have an abode hear hee shall pay the said tenn pounds
Item I Give to my two dafters Elizabeth Buckland and Mary Buckland all
my Cow Paster and Ship pasters that i posses in the Comon ffield called
Wellford ffield to be equall parts a licke but if my youngest soon John
should dye my two dafters shall have the tenn pounds equally parted
alicke to them that is to say to Elizabeth & Mary & if either of them
two die then their part or porshon to the other to be equaly devided or
if only one Live be it hee or shee they shall have the three parts and
there own also and they shall have the Comon in present posseshon Six
years after my death that shall be the tim and all the rest of my goods
& cattell both muffeable and non mufabel with house yard garden orchard
Cloas trees wood underwood hedges ditches ffences & all what soe ever i
posess I give to my Loveing Wife Ruth Buckland ffor Term of her Life
making her my whole and Soule Executor in witness hereof i have set to
my Hand and Seal the fourteenth day of November in the ffirst year of
the raine of our Soverain Lord & Lady William & Mary our most graceious
King & Queen defender of the Cristean ffaith Ano: Dom 1689
