The Will of John Frederick Browne

 

This is the last Will and Testament of me John Frederick Browne the Elder of the Parish of Bedminster in the County of Somerset Ropemaker ffirst I direct that all my just debts which I may owe at the time of my decease together with my funeral & testamentary expences and all other incidental charges shall in the first place be paid and satisfied I give and bequeath to my Wife       Brown and also permit and suffer her to receive and take the interest or yearly Dividends arising from the Sum of four hundred pounds invested in the three per cent Consolidated ffunds of Great Britain or upon some other Parliamentary or Government Security which my Uncle Thomas Ball late of Exeter in the County of Devon since deceased gave and bequeathed to me by virtue of his last Will and Testament in…. whereupon I shall become entitled to the same immediately on the death of my Aunt Mary Ball his widow who is now residing at Exeter in the County of Devonshire aforesaid in the ninety second year of her age To hold to her my said Wife from & after the decease of my Aunt the said Mary Ball for and during the term of her natural life for her own proper use and benefit  And from and immediately after her decease I give and bequeath the said Sum of four hundred pounds so invested as aforesaid unto my Executor hereinafter named Upon trust to sell and transfer the same for the best price that can be procured and who shall then with all convenient speed…..a division of the net proceeds thereof and pay such monies arising therefrom into the hands of my Children in the manner following I give and bequeath unto my Son John ffrederick Browne one fourth part of the net proceeds arising from the Sale of the said ffour hundred pounds To and for his own separate use and benefit And the remaining three fourth parts thereof I give and bequeath the same to my five daughters namely Mary Elizabeth Rebecca Susannah and Lydia in equal proportions share and share alike to and for them and each of their own proper use & benefit Independent of & without being subject to the debts or control of any present or future husband or husbands whom they or either of them shall intermarry And as to the Residue of my Personal Estate & Effects I give and bequeath the same and every part thereof to my said Wife to and for her own proper use and benefit And I do hereby nominate constitute & appoint William Bland of the Parish of Bedminster in the County of Somerset aforesaid Gardener Executor of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all and every other Will and Wills heretofore by me made and do declare this to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I the said John Frederick Browne the Testator have to this my last Will and Testament contained in two Sheets of Paper set my hand to the first sheet thereof and to this second and last sheet set my hand & seal the eighteenth day of October one thousand eight hundred and thirty six John Frederick Browne
