This is the last Will and Testament of me
Henry Browne of West Lulworth in the County of Dorsett Gentleman
made published and declared this thirtieth day of Aprill in the
yeare of our Lord God one thousand seven hundred and seaven
Imprimis I bequeath my Soul into the hands of God Almighty and
my body to be decently interred at the discretion of my Executor
hereafter named in the parish Church of West Lulworth aforesaid
(but if it should be deemed in some other parish Church) and as
for my goods and personall Estate I dispose thereof in manner
following Imprimis I give to my dear Mother Katharine Browne
twenty pounds to be paid as soon as conveniently may be after my
decease And the sume of fifteen pounds to be paid her yearly
dureing her naturall life by equall half yearly payments the
first payment to be made at the first of the ffeasts of the
Nativity of our Lord God the annunciation of the blessed Virgin
Mary the nativity of St John the Baptist and the ffeast of St
Michael the Arch Angell whichever shall happen next after my
decease Item I give to my loving kinsman Charles Ancketill of
Stower Provost in the said County of Dorsett Gent the sume of
fifty pounds Item I give unto William Browne of Ringwood in the
County of Southton aged about nine yeares the sume of fifty
pounds when he shall attain the age of one and Twenty yeares
Item I give to my Kinsman Joseph Browne of Wick in the County of
Worcester near Pershore Gent fifty pounds and my Seal Ring which
bears the Escutcheon of my family Item I give to my Kinsman Mr
Winter of Stower Provost aforesaid Tenn Pounds and my Will is
that five pounds more to be paid him by my Executor to be by him
disposed of to such Charitable Uses as he shall think meet Item
I give to John Slade of St Andrews ffarme the sume of five
pounds Item I give to John ffooke of East Lulworth in the said
County of Dorsett Blacksmith five pounds Item I give to
Bernard of Weymouth in the said County Widd: the sume of five
pounds Item I give to my loving Kinsman and friend Thomas
Knapton of Dorchester in the said County of Dorsett Gent the
sume of one hundred pounds Item my will is that five and Twenty
pounds shall be laid out in mourning Rings to be given to such
persons as I shall direct Item I give all the rest and Residue
of my goods chattels rights and Creditts to the said Thomas
Knapton whom I constitute Executor of this my last Will and
Testament in trust that after all my debts and Legacies and the
said yearly payment to my Mother are satisfied paid and
determined the same shall be equally divided and paid to and
amongst the Children of ffrancis Anketill of Stower Provost
aforesaid Esq by Mary his Wife such of them as are younger than
the said Charles Ankertill in equall proportions Witness my hand

Imprimis I give unto Mrs Grace Knapton my
best pair of Holland Sheets and a dozzon of th best Napkins she
can find amongst my Linnen and alsoe I give her my great Iron
Pott Item I give unto the Daughters of my Cousin ffancis
Ancketill Esq and unto Grace Knapton the younger all my lace &
Linnen points and fien Linnen in my Trunck to be equally divided
amongst them Item I give unto Charles Anketill my Punch bowl
silver Tumbler and Silver Dram Dish item I give unto William
Willis my Riding Coat and my Close bodyed Coat and Waistcoat
with the Doe skinn Breeches and alsoe my Walking Cane Item I
give unto young Mrs Grace Knapton my Silver Spoon Item I give my
Walking Silver hilted Sword unto young Mr Thomas Knapton Item I
give and bequeath unto Anne Barnett my Servant in recompence of
her faithfull service All the rest of my Goods not before
disposed of (vizt) my Bed Bedstead Blanketts and bolsters and
all things thereunto belonging and alsoe my Linnen of all Sorts
not before disposed of with all utensills of Brass pewter Tinn
Iron and Wood and alsoe I give her my little Silver Watch and
all sort of goods either in the house or any where about the
garden and ground that I leave at the time of Death I alsoe
desire that my said Servant Anne Barnett shall continue in the
house and garden and the outhouses I mean in the quiett
possession thereof untill she hath gathered the ffruits thereof
(in case I happen to dye before) for he rown proper use and to
dispose of herself and goods and the rent to be paid by my
Executor And my will is that this be taken as a Codicill to my
last Will and Testament Witness my hand and seal the date above
