The Will of John Brixey
This is the last Will of and Testament of me John
Brixey in the Parish of Ringwood in the County of Southampton Esquire first
I order and Direct my Executors herein after named to lay out the sum of
twenty pounds in erecting a small Monument in the South Wing of Ringwood
Church then I give and bequeath the Dividends or Interest of one thousand
one hundred pounds which I now have in the three per cents reduced unto my
Daughter Mary Birt for and during the term of her natural life and from and
after her decease I give the said sum of one thousand one hundred pounds
three per cents unto All and every the Children of my said Daughter Mary
Birt equally to be divided between them share and share alike and to be paid
to them as they shall respectively attain the age of Twenty five Years the
Interest and Produce thereof in the mean time to be Applied to their
Maintenance and Education Item I give and bequeath the Interest of the
further sum of one hundred pounds which I now have in the three per cents
reduced to my daughter Ann Carver for and during the term of her natural
life for her own sole and separate use and after her decease I give the said
sum of one thousand one hundred pounds three per cents to the six children
of my said Daughter Ann Carver equally to be divided between them share and
share alike and to be paid to them as they shall respectively attain the age
of Twenty five Years the Interest and Produce thereof in the mean time to be
Applied to their Maintenance and Education Item I give and devise all that
my ffreehold Estate and Hereditaments and Premises situate lying and being
in the parish of in the said County of Southampton unto my said Daughter
Mary Birt for and during the term of her natural life and from and after her
decease I give and devise the said ffreehold Estate and Premises unto her
Son John Birt and his Heirs for ever Item I give and devise my ffreehold
Estates Lands and Premises situate lying and being in Kingston aforesaid
known by the name of ffoyles and Tremains unto my said two Daughters Mary
Birt and Ann Carver their Heirs and Assigns for ever as Tenants in Common
and not Joint Tenants I give and bequeath unto my said two Daughters all
those my four leasehold Estates which I hold under the Lord of the Manor of
Ringwood to hold to them their Executors Administrators and Assigns for all
the Term and Estate I now have therein equally between them as Tenants in
Common I give and bequeath all my Jewels equally between my said two
Daughters I give my said Daughter Ann Carver one Silver Tankard and two
Silver Waiters I give and bequeath unto Jane Tremain one annuity of eight
pounds to be paid her by two equal half Yearly Payments that is to say at
Michaelmas and Lady Day the first payment to be made the Michaelmas or Lady
Day that shall happen after my decease Item I give my Nephew John Blashford
the sum of Twenty Pounds Item I give the late Richard Bushells seven
children two Guineas each Item I give and bequeath unto all and every my
said Daughter Birt’s children the sum of three hundred pounds each to be
paid them as they respectively attain the age of Twenty five Years Item I
give and bequeath unto my daughter Ann Carver’s six children sum of three
hundred pounds each to be paid them as they respectively attain the age of
Twenty five Years I give to my Housekeeper that shall be living with me at
the time of my death the sum of five pounds I give unto Mary Middleton wife
of James Middleton my Tweezer Case with all the Trinkets therein and one
Gold Ring All the rest residue and remainder of my ffreehold Leasehold and
Copyhold Estates Monies Securities for Money Plate Goods Chattells Personal
Estate and substance whatsoever and wheresoever situate and being I give
devise and bequeath unto my said Daughter Mary Birt and to her Heirs
Executors Administrators and Assigns for ever And Lastly I do hereby
nominate and Appoint my said Daughter Mary Birt and my relative Edward Avery
of Ringwood joint Executors and Trustees of this my Will and do give the
said Edward Avery the sum of ten pounds for his trouble in executing the
same In Witness whereof I have to this my last Will and Testament set my
Hand and Seal the seventh Day of June in the Year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred John Brixey
