Excerpts of Will made 2 Dec 1889:

 

Executors-

-Mansfield, Heron, Humble of Chesterfield;

-Charles Blockley of Chesterfield.

 

Bequests-

-Wines, Spirits, Liquors at Berry Hill, Cross Street, Chesterfield equally to Luke Britt and William Albert Britt.

-Smaller diamond ring, larger gold locket, gold kerb chain, to Luke Britt.

-gold watch, gold pencil case, larger diamond ring, smaller gold locket, to William Albert Britt.

-Plate, linen, china, glass, books, pictures, prints, furniture and other household effects, equally to Luke Britt, William Albert britt, Sarah kate  Britt, Alice Maud Mary Britt.

-Third share of business Wm Britt & Sons, horses, carriages and harness to Luke and William Albert Britt.

-request that the horse Bismark be destroyed when it become unfit for work.

-6 dwellinghouses in Beetwell Street Chesterfield, eleven lots of building   land on Spital Estate near Chesterfield to the two said sons.

-Berry Hill to Luke Britt from which will be paid œ350 to William Albert Britt.

-Leasehold house at 5 Gainsford Street Barnsbury London to Luke Britt.

-shares in Richard Hornsby & Sons Ltd Grantham, Corbett & Co. Stove Grate Works Rotherham, Frederick Braby & Co. Euston Sq London, to two sons  equally.

-œ2500 and third share of remainder of personal estate to daughter    Elizabeth Turner,widow.

-3 Houses in cross Street Chesterfield currently occupied by Miss Alsopp,   

Miss Lea, Rev Wyndham, plus œ1800 and third share of moneys remaining from  personal estate, to daughter Sarah Kate Britt.

-2 houses in Gladstone Road Chesterfield occupied by wife and Miss Harmer, œ1800 plus third share of remaining personal estate to Alice Maud Mary Britt.

-œ20 to assistant Thomas Spooner.

-œ20 to Chesterfield Hospital.

 

Witnessed by A.Roberts, Edward Taylor-Clerks to Messrs Shipton, Hallewell & Co. Solicitors Chesterfield.

 

 

This will was proved at Derby on 15 Jul 1892 following death of William Britt of Chesterfield, Ironmonger on 14 Sep 1891 at Chesterfield.

 

Gross value of personal estate-œ11499.18.11d.
