The Will of William Bringis


This is the Last Will & testament of me William Bringis of Staines in the County of Middlesex Butcher in the first place I give and bequeath to my Wife Charlotte all my household goods plate linen and china to and for her own use and benefit all the rest residue and remainder of my estate and effects both real and personal I give devise and bequeath unto my two good friends Nathaniel Jones of Staines aforesaid Gentleman and Anthony Wells of the same place tallow chandler to hold to the said Nathaniel Jones and Anthony Wells their heirs Executors Administrators and assigns for ever according to the nature of the said estates but subject nevertheless and to and for the several uses ends and purposes hereinafter mentioned and expressed that is to say upon trust as soon as conveniently may be after my decease to make sale of all my estate either by private contract or public sale as they in their discretion shall think proper and to facilitate the sale or sales thereof I direct that the receipt or receipts of my said Trustees or the survivor of them shall be a good and sufficient discharge to any purchaser or purchasers thereof or of any part thereof and he shall not afterwards be obliged to see to the application or nonapplication thereof or be answerable for the same or any part thereof and then upon trust to pay off satisfy and discharge all mortgages and incumbrances affecting my said estate or estates and in the next place to pay all my just and lawful debts and funeral and testamentary charges and expences attending the execution of the trusts hereby in my said Trustees reposed and if any surplus shall remain after such payment as aforesaid upon trust to pay the same into the proper hands of my said Wife to and for her own use and benefit and I nominate constitute and appoint the said Nathaniel Jones and Anthony Wells Trustees and Executors of this my last Will and Testament and I do hereby revoke all former and other Wills and do declare this to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this tenth day of November in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and nineteen  W Bringis
