In the Name of God Amen the ffourth day of March in the Second Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Third by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the ffaith Annoq Dm 1762 I John Briggs of Ditton in the County of Kent ffelmonger being Infirm in Body but of Sound and Disposing Mind and Memory (Praised be God) Do make and Ordain this my Last Will and Testament in manner following (that is to say) First and Principally I Surrender up my Soul into the hands of Almighty God my Creator hoping to be saved by and through the only Meritts and Satisfaction of Jesus Christ my Saviour and Redeemer and my Body I Committ to the Earth to be decently Interred and Buryed by and at the Discretion of my Executrix hereafter named. Item I Give and Bequeath unto my Sister Frances Blakeley Ten Guineas and to her Son One Guinea Item I Give Devise and Bequeath all and every my Messuages Lands Tenements Hereditaments and Real whatsoever with their and every of their Appurtenances unto my Dear and Loving Wife Mary Briggs her Heirs and Assignes for ever Item as to all the rest and residue of my ready Money Securitys for Money Goods Chattells and Personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever and of what Nature kind or Quality soever the same may be (after and subject to the Payment of my Debts Legacys and Funeral Expences) I Give and Bequeath the same and every part thereof and all my Estate and Interest therein unto my said Wife Mary Briggs her Executors and Administrators And I do Make Constitute and appoint my said Wife Mary Briggs Sole Executrix of this my Last Will and Testament And I do hereby revoke all former Wills by me made In Witness whereof I the said John Briggs have to this my Last Will and Testament sett my hand and Seal Dated the day and Year first above written John Briggs
