The Will of Anthony Braine

 

In the name of God Amen I Anthony Braine of Chipping Norton in the County of Oxford doe this ffirst day of August one thousand six hundred Eighty four make this my last Will and Testament ffirst I comit my soul to Almighty God in the name of Jesus Christ who I hope hath redeemed it and my Body to the Earth to be buryed with Christian Buriall secondly my Worldly Estate with which it hath pleased God to bless mee I doe dispose of as followeth ffirst I doe give to my Deare Mother the sume of five pounds to my Brother Thomas Brayne the sume of twenty ffive pounds To my brother Phillip Ordaway the sume of one pound To my Deare Sister Anna Ordaway his Wife the sume of three pounds To Cozen Jonathan & Anna their sonne and daughter the sume of fforty shilling apeece, to my loveing sister Mary Braine the sume of ffour pounds To cozen Mary Braine her daughter the sume of twenty shillings To John and Susanna Braine my cozens the sume of five shillings apeece To my Uncle Richard Lucas the sume of tenn shillings and my Aunt his Wife and their three children tenn shillings apiece To Mr William Crispe Tenn Shillings To Mrs Elizabeth Cave the sume of one pound and to her daughter Elizabeth Cave the sume of tenn shillings her sonn Thomas and James two and six pence apeece to buy them Gloves To my cozen Thomas Lord and his Wife two and six pence each to buy them Gloves to Samuel Molt two and Six pence to buy him Gloves Also I doe desire my brother Ordaway and my uncle Richard Lucas to see this my Will performed And that my Brother Thomas whom I doe hereby appoint Executor of this my Will would give them two and six pence each to buy them Gloves for their care they will take herein and other Goods and Chattles ???..upon Condition that they will pay all my debtes and legacyes and doe hereby revoke and nullifye all other Wills and Testaments whatsoever In Witness e whereof I set my hand and seale the day and yeare above written Anthony Brayne
