The Will of William Bordman
In the name of God amen, This eleventh day of January in the year of our Lord 1728/29, according to the computation of the Church of England, I William Bordman of Rumworth, in the parish of Deane and County of Lancashire, school master and Clerk of the said Parish, do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following: and first I bequeath my soul into the hands of Almighty God, hoping through the merits of my Saviour, Jesus Christ, to receive free pardon of all my sins. Next, my body to be buried at the Discretion of my Executors hereafter nominated. And as to those wordly Goods and Estates or tenement that it has pleased God to bless me with, I give and bequeath as follows: Item, my will is first that all be debts and funeral expenses be paid and discharged. Item I give and bequeath to Alice my dearly beloved wife, the House and ground and all the appurtenances thereunto belonging at Foernal Yeate (Fernhill Gate ) lying and being in Rumworth aforesaid towards the assisting and bringing up of my youngest children, during her life, if the life in the Original Lease so long doth last.Next I give to six of my eldest children which was begotten by my former wife, fourty shillings a piece in money and Goods according to the discretion of my Executors hereafter nominated. Also I give to my dearly beloved wife the two dwelling houses, garden and Croft lying and being in Breightmet in the Parish of Bolton during her natural life and after decease I give and bequeath the said. Housing and all appurtenances thereunto in Breightmet to my son John Bordmanb. Likewise I give to my Dearly Beloved wife all the rest, residue and remainder of my Goods and Chattles whatever.
As also I make and ordain Oliver Morris of Heaton, William Yate of Farnworth and Alice, my well beloved wife, sole Executors of this my last Will and Testament.
