The Will of Ann Bordman

 

IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN, the four and twentieth day of September in the eight and twentieth year of the reign of our most Gracious Sovereign Lord and King Charles the second by the grace of god England, Scotland, France and Ireland defender of the faith etc. Anno Dom. 1676 I ANN BORDMAN of Middle Hulton in the Parish of Deane in the county of Lancaster and Diocece of Chester, fustian spinster, being very sick and weak of body but of good and perfect memory I praise my God, yet knowing that death is cartine to all, I do therefore constitue, ordain and make and appoint this my last will and testament in manner and form following, that is to say, first and above all things, I commend my soul into the hands of Almighty God, the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost in whom alone is all my trust to be saved through the merits of Christ, his passion and my body I commend to the earth from whence it came and to be buried in my Parish Church or Churchyard of Deane in our usual place of burial thereto to remain in the earth until it shall please my Saviour and Redeemer to raise it up again with a body of imortality and fore and considering my wordly goods and chattels which the Lord has been pleased to bestoe on me, I depose of in manner and form following (that is to say) first my will and mind is that my funeral expenses shall be paid first out of the whole estate and bequeath unto my daughter ALLIN my best red quot ( coat) and best black wayscote and my best hose and gt. Hose and my blue quot and my daughter ANNE my best wayscot with black hose and my best winter? Coat and my best black undercoat and ANNE must have my apron and ALLIN my worst apron and my linen clothes to divide betwix them and if anything be left beside bringing more forth to divide it equally equally betwix HENRY AND RAPHE and ALLIN and ANN and MARGARET and I do hereby make ordain and nominate JOHN MATHER her grandson my sole and full executor of this my last will and testament to execute and perform as my trust is in him before all other.
 
In witness whereof I the said ANN BORDMAN have hereunto put my hand and seal the day and year above written.
