The Will of Richard Boorer

 

In the Name of God Amen this twenty first day of August one thousand eight hundred and twenty one I Richard Boorer of the Parish of Sutton in the County of Surry Butcher being in good bodily health and of perfect mind and memory thanks be given unto God therefore calling into mind the mortality of my body knowing that it is appointed unto all Men once to die do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament that is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it and my body I recommend to the Earth to be buried to be buried in decent Christian burial at the discretion of my Executors nothing doubting but that at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the Almighty power of God And as touching such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life I give devise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form viz I give and bequeath to Elizabeth my dearly beloved Wife all and singular my business stock in trade household goods debts movable effects and estate whatsoever by her freely to be possessed and enjoyed during her natural life or in the event of her marrying again in either of which case her marriage or decease then the business stock in trade as before named is to be sold and the amount equally divided between my well beloved Sons and daughters save and except such of them who may have had money in advance the amount of which be accounted for so as to make all their shares in equal proportions I likewise constitute make and ordain my well beloved son Richard Boorer of the City of London Victualler in conjunction with my trusty friend John Grace of Sutton in the County of Surrey Victualler Executors of this my last Will and Testament and I do hereby utterly disallow revoke and disannul all and every former testament wills legacies bequests and executors by me in any ways before named willed and bequeathed ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last Will and testament In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year above written Richard Boorer Signed sealed published pronounced and declared by the said Richard Boorer as his last Will and Testament in the presence of us the subscribers John Derby – James Bridgman Junior
