The Will of John Boorer

 

I John Boorer in the Parish of Betchworth Surry Victualler declare this my last will and Testament as follows

I appoint William Holdsworth and John Mialls my two sons in law to be the Executors of this my Will as follows that is to say after my decease to be buried in a plain decent manner I desire my wife Margaret Boorer to take as much of the furniture as she thinks proper for her use then sell the remainder in doors and out of doors and let the public house if I have not and pay all my debts burial expences proving this my Will and all fair demands and receive all monies due to me except such as is hereinafter mentioned : seventeen hundred pounds stock standing in my name in the three per cent Consols in the Bank of England which shall not be sold out till hereinafter mentioned. I gave the Interest of this seventeen hundred pounds stock to my Wife Margaret Boorer for her use and benefit during her life I desire my Executors to give to my Wife Margaret Boorer thirty pounds out of the balance of money received then all the money left in the balance when they are settled I gave to my daughter Sarah Holdsworth and my daughter Margaret Miall to be divided between them share and share alike after the decease of my Wife Margaret Boorer I gave the interest of the above mentioned seventeen hundred pounds stock between my daughter Sarah the Wife of Wm Holdsworth and my daughter Margaret Miall to be divided between them share and share alike during their lives if either of my daughters above mentioned should die before their husbands Wm Holdsworth or John Miall I desire Wm Holdsworth or John Miall or both as the case may happen to survive the share in trust that was due to his wife during his or their lives but the interest money shall be subject to this if James Dawkins the son of my Wife by a former husband comes after the decease of my Wife Margaret Boorer and makes a claim with a Certificate from the Minister of Betchworth Surry after that claim he shall have paid to him sixteen pounds a year out of the interest of the above mentioned seventeen hundred pounds stock to be paid by them that receives the interest and should he be the longer liver of all the above mentioned then he shall receive the interest of the seventeen hundred pound stock during his life but if he does not claim during the life time of either my daughter Sarah Holdsworth or my daughter Margaret Miall William Holdsworth or John Miall my two sons in Law after they are all dead and James Dawkins has not claimed or if claimed in time and after his decease and after the decease of my two daughters and my two sons in law above mentioned then I gave this seventeen hundred pounds stock to be sold out and divided share and share alike to and amongst all my grandchildren the children of my two daughters Sarah Holdsworth the Wife of Wm Holdsworth and Margaret Miall the Wife of Jno Miall I declare this only to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I the said Testator have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand and seal this sixteenth day of ffebruary one thousand eight hundred and twenty five John Boorer
