The Will of Henry Boorer

 

In the Name of God Amen I Henry Boorer of Ockley in the County of Surrey Butcher being sick and weak in Body but of a sound and disposing Mind Memory and Understanding do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner following that is to say first and principally I recommend my Soul to Almighty God my Creator and my Body I commit to the Earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executor hereinafter named and as to my Worldly Estate after my just Debts and ffuneral Expences are paid I dispose thereof as follows I give and bequeath unto my Son in Law Robert Boreman the Sum of two hundred pounds of lawful Money of Great Britain to be paid him within six Months next after my decease and one hundred pounds more to be paid unto him within four Year next after my decease Also I Give unto my Grandaughter Elizabeth Boreman the sum of one hundred pounds to be paid unto my said Son in Law within four years after my decease until my said Grandaughter shall attain to the age of twenty one years and the Interest to be paid to her during her Minority towards her education and .... And as soon as she attains the age of twenty one Years my will is that she shall have the said hundred pounds at her own disposing as she shall think proper but if she should not live to attain the age of twenty one years and leave no lawful Issue then I give the said hundred Pounds unto my Daughter Elizabeth the Wife of Robert Boreham and to her Heirs and Assigns for ever I Give and Devise unto my Daughter Mary Wife of Hersey Willard all those my House Tenements and Lands with the Appurtenances situate in Ockley aforesaid to hold the same to her my said Daughter Mary during her natural life and the Rents Issues and Profits thereof to be at her disposing and her receipt to be always a sufficient discharge for the same and if her Husband should survive her I give him the said Houses Tenements and Lands to hold the same during his life and my Will and Desire is that they my said Daughter and her Husband shall from time to time during their Lives maintain uphold and keep all the said Messuage and Appurtenances in Good and sufficient repair but not to cut down any of the Timber standing and growing thereon but as soon as my Grandson Henry Willard shall attain to the age of twenty four years I hereby authorize him my said Grandson to enter upon the said Lands and cut down and convert the Timber thereon at his free Will and pleasure and after the decease of my said Daughter Mary and her Husband I give the said Houses Tenements and Lands with the Appurtenances unto my said Grandson Henry Willard and to his Heirs and Assigns for ever but in case my said Daughter Mary should have no Issue which may survive she and her Husband then I give the said Houses Tenements and Lands with the Appurtenances unto the Heirs of my Daughter Elizabeth and in default of such Issue I give the said unto my nearest of kin known by the Name of Boorer and to their Sons and Assigns for ever Also I give and devise unto my Grandson Henry Willard all that my Messuage or Tenement with the Appurtenances situate in Warnham as soon as he shall attain to the age of twenty four years and his Mother to take and receive the Rents and Profits thereof until he shall attain to that age and I do hereby charge the said Messuage with the payment of three shillings yearly and every year for ever to the clerk or Sexton of Warnham to keep up in good order the Graves of my ffather Mother and Brother Also I give unto my said Grandson the Sum of one hundred Pounds at the age of twenty one years and I give unto my Grandaughter Mary Willard the sum of one hundred pounds at her age of twenty one years Also I give unto my workman John Kitchen five pounds to be paid in six Months after my decease Also I give forty Shillings worth of Bread to the poor of Ockley within one Month after my decease all which Legacies I direct to be paid by my Executor in manner aforesaid and my Will is that my Executor shall erect a Tomb over me and my Wife and a Head and foot stone to my Son Henry and my Daughter Sarah and I do hereby appoint my Son in Law Hersey Willard full and sole Executor of this my Will hereby making void all former Wills by me before made ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal the twenty first Day of May one thousand seven hundred and seventy nine Henry Boorer
